I glue the cloth on with a method based on your system....
I also install the presidential pocket slate shelf liner you taught me...
I always modify "or try to better"things i work on if it needs it in my eyes...
always learning and observing on tables I'm not familiar with when I work on them instead of like most guys that just want to get payed and go home and could care less of what they left you with.. kinda like a pizza delivery guy- he don't give a crap what he leaves u with, he didn't make the pizza

these threads are great, perhaps the best possible type of thread there is.
I know thats a big statment but here is why, there are a handful of top table fitters in America, all of America. I dont think that the reason is there is so few is because the not-so-good ones want to do poor work, I think its because they dont know any better. This shareing of knowlege table fitter teaching other table fitters effects a whole pile of tables that we as players use, thus these threads effect more people than the average thread.
My biz partner paid 9.5K for a B-Wick furnature looking table (that probably cost B-Wick less than $600 shipped) with burgandy 860 on it. I was over at his house the other day and one of the rails is so loose you can almost hear the bolts rattle, it aint level, the cloth isnt pulled right etc etc. The reason I mentioned my opinion of the cost of the table is somewhere between the cost of $600 and the sales price of $9500 there should be some $$$ for proper installation. I dont have a beef with B-Wick making $$$ or the retailer, but not having adiquate knowlege of how to install a product with that much profit in the deal time and time again is shameful.

i stopped at a local great escape "the only brunswick dealer for miles and miles" and the work those dirty hacks do makes me sic,I seen there work.....
there is 1 crew that installs everything on the sales floor they sell, and the sales guy is so full of shit i wanted to fire him out the glass store front window..I left shaking my head in disbelief of what brunswick billiards has done with there way business.. <there falling behind...

Rob, this is not a bashing thread buddy. Brunswick, Diamond, Olhausen, Simonis, Championship, and everyone else has the same problem with mechanics, there is no correct training to teach mechanics how to work on pool tables, or install their cloths, or cushions for that matter. The reason for this thread is to give people something to look at, that might make them take another look at the table they have and how its been done and maybe realize it's not really the way it should be, but they didn't know any better because no one told them, thus...the "before & after" pictures
How to see if the mechanic your talking to knows what he's doing or not....will be in another thread

After you down load them to your computer you can edit them to size 100K save them to a file and then up-load from that file.

You're pretty smart there fatboy, you hit the nail in the head, problem is...who's doing the training, because all those that sell the items needed to make a pool table...themselves don't know. Once a table has been bought and delivered....from there on out...it's up to a table mechanic to either keep it playing like new, move it...or repair it...because all those companies that helped produce that table....are OUT of the picture at that point

This picture is a sample of what this new tooling can do when it comes to sanding the cushions flush to the end of the rails.

They're both GC1's. The cushions are the Artemis Intercontinental K55 cushions, same as Diamond uses on their 9ft's.

In this first picture, this is the cushions I'm replacing in order to correct how the tables play. These are the Artemis K66 Pool cushions that were installed on all the tables at Malarkey's several years ago. These are coming off the 5th & 6th tables I've rebuilt there so far, still have 2 more to go, that'll leave 3 left to do at another time as I have to get out of here and get back to the Diamond factory. Just keep in mind that ANY GC1 is going to have the sub-rails modified in order to install any of the newer K55 cushions of today, even Brunswick Superspeeds
