Wow. Pretty awesome figure. But I'll disagree with Ralf. While I love amboyna, cutting up that bottom piece would be a crime.

I agree.....it's too pretty to cut points or inlays into that piece of birdseye. Cues built with wood that nice should only be built with nice trim rings and let the beauty of the wood make the cue. Just my 2 cents......

but the wood sticking out from both ends of the BEM is that what "coring "is??
or is that the same piece of BEM just sanded down to a smaller circumference???
i'll put a few more of these:o:o:o in my post because i guess to some of you this is a stupid question:o

Not a stupid question, and yes that is the core dowel sticking out of both ends.
