From what I'm hearing Dallas players want too run a separate tournament so they don't have to drive too Sherman. The extra money raise will help of course, but it not just about money. Money has never healed anyone's illness, spirit, or moral. Friendship, showing that you care, and love can go a long ways too boost an individuals healing process. I thought that's what a benefit was for was too show love and caring too someone.

Just my opinion! Maybe I missed the meaning of this benefit.

Now, who is coming, I need too know so my wife will know how much food too prepare.

Well put papa red. Im about 50/50 at this point. I will do my best to make. I only know Tony from a few tournament where we have played. I can say that he was always a gentleman and a sportsman. I could see that he was well respected by other pool players and that says a lot. We are a tough group to impress. I hope to make this one.

I'm a dork-fish

Leave it to me to mess up the list AND spell Kennan's name wrong...

I've edited again because bullshooter69 ain't on the list! Hope he doesn't kill me when he gets back into town for leaving him off (and calling him "Douglas")...

Let's see if I can fix it... (maybe the moose can help :grinning-moose: )

I hope you can make it! We're gonna have some great stuff in the silent auction and raffles, as well as some great pool playing! I'm very happy to see that Robert Clark, Gordy and Bob are going to come play.

Sign me Up

Hey all -

Sign me up---I will be there!

I know there are several folks who are planning to be there but I don't have their formal commitment yet. I'm sure there will be a caravan coming from Dallas. Also I know some folks are gearing up for BCA State this week, so there will probably be more to sign up after Harker Heights.

Also can you post the details of the tournament? Some folks are asking me and I don't have my flyer with me.

I also plan to post the info on the SWEL website.

Toodle-loo,
Monica

There's my girl! Hey Monica! I just emailed you a flyer. Let me know if you get it OK... also, let me know who else to add.

I hope there is a great turnout for this benefit

I truly hope the pool community shows its support by showing up for the benefit tournament for tony. Tony himself would be first one to show support and attend a benefit tournament for someone in need in trying times no doubt. I havnt personally seen tony in over a year but no matter when you see him ,he is extremely friendly and never acts like he doesnt want to talk anyone. I hope tony is doing much better and maybe even gets to play in tournament if he gets to feeling better by chance, truly hope everything is better and he gets back to kicking everyones ass at pool again real soon. Will see you at benefit and i will be bringing everyone i can, also are we having any kind of auction to benefit also at tournament i have some nice new instroke cases and some other things would donate to auction benefit at tournament also, let me know and thanks.again hope you get to feeling better real soon tony from carl reed.

Thanks for asking! Here are some more details

hey there,

yes we are having a silent auction and a raffle to help raise money, in addition to a large portion of the tournament entries and player auction. Don't let this list fool you, there are going to be TONS of people there and many of them are not on AZ. If you do have items you would like to donate for auction or raffle please let me know in advance so we can be ready. there has been a huge outpouring of support for Tony, and anyone that knows him, will understand why.

We are going to have to get started EARLY on Sat the 28th of March in order to accommodate the anticipated turnout. We want to start the Draw as close to 11AM as we can, and the tourament very soon after. HOPEFULLY we can finish in one day. but if we have 50+ players there is a chance that the finals may have to be played on Sunday afternoon. THAT WOULD BE A GREAT PROBLEM TO HAVE :D

partial list of some of the Items already donated:

Wes Hunter Cue and It's George case
Stars tickets (on the glass)
copy of "Pool Wars" (signed by Jay Helfert plus some DVD's and cash)
A set of Brand New Tires (local business)
Transmission service (local business)
Custom Tattoo (from one of the best around)
Jump Cue
Tapes (new) from Bert Kinister
Color Printer (new in the box)

I know I'm forgetting something..... OH!

Captain K.(Kennan Keffer) will also be on site with his lathe doing repair work, and will be generous enough to donate 1/2 of everything to the benefit plus some donations for the raffle

also, Bigtruck informed me that Fast Eddies would be donating 1/2 of the green fees from the Scoth Tournament they are having that weekend.

I know there are other folks who plan on attending and donating cash or items for the auction/raffle. If you are one of them PLEASE let me know so we can make sure we have enough tables for the items:

And as always you can donate money directly to Tony's medical fund via paypal @ tsulsar.med.fund@gmail.com

this tournament is GOING TO BE BIIIIIIIIG!!! Lot's of folks are driving from all over to support Tony. I would not be surprised if we have 60+ for the tournament. Lot's of people that are coming are not on AZ so that list is not up to date ( maybe I should fix that:D)

Count me in!

Does anyone care to carpool with me! I can hold up to 5 in my car and get good gas mileage????? :grin-square:

Peace,
Amanda

I should be there, but I am not 100% yet. Either way, I've got a few WPBA mementos that I plan to donate to the raffles.

Papa Red - will ya'll be at league on Thursday?

We thought Tony was gonna try to make it this Thursday... but, NOOOO...

Not a happy man!! In the hospital for his first chemo. We thought he was just going to be here for a few hours to get it started, but being the first course, they want him to stay for 48 hours and watch him.

(wow that's a crappy picture... should have watched the sun...)

Tara...

I'll be at league on Thursday if they don't make it...

I'm playing in the tournament and I live in McKinney so I can probably get it to them before the event...

Cool, thanks Jeff. I am going to try to make it out Thursday, but if not, I will get them to someone to get them to you or the Sherman guys.
