Thank you! Looks like they needed a third day!

Amazing this epic challenge match did not get more notice here on AzBilliards Discussion Forum. Justin Bergman wins 21-17. It's nice to see pool American style. We received phone calls from around the country from a variety of pool peeps wanting to know how they can sweat the match. This was epic in more ways than one. Round of applause to LilJon for stepping up to the plate and giving it his all. Congratulations to a quiet, unassuming-type pool player, Just Bergman. No bells and whisltes with Justin. He lets his cue do the talking for him.

Great match overall! I do think it was a mistake for Lil John to extend it to a third day seeing how well day 2 was going for him. Bergman is a straight killer for the cash though.
I've shared this tale before...

I quietly attended an out of town event that had some pretty heavy hitters in it and got there a few days early.

There was a lot of barking and wads of money being flashed about with 'you can get it all...' statements behind the visual.

Justin showed up day before the event and people got real quiet. I think he was under 18 then.

That's a bad dude.

Great match great sweat. Looked like it was getting out of hand after day 1, then little John turned it on big time and probably would’ve won if they kept playing instead of pausing. Bergman is, in my opinion, the second best player on the US. Very underrated and I try to bet on him whenever I get the chance. A while back he came through and played some bar table 8 ball with a friend of mine who is a champ on the bar table. My friend won the flip and opened up with a 5-pack. Bergman grinded back and ended up winning. My friend quit and said you’re too good and Bergman said “cmon keep playing I’ll give you the breaks” I don’t think they ended up playing again, and I’m pretty sure Bergman would’ve lost giving up the breaks, but the dude has game and he knows it lol

I was practicing on the pit table at The Break across The River from STL and Justin walked in and asked if I wanted to play some cheap 1pocket. This would have been like 15 years ago so he was in his early 20's. I said sure and we did $20 a game. Right about then I was running *a lot* of balls on that table and in fact I have a 100+ ball run posted somewhere on YT from that era. We played and, in short order, I pretty much ran out two games in a row and JB unscrews and says, "I don't want to do this." He paid his $40 and left.

I am probably the only guy in St. Louis to make him unscrew and gotten JB dough. I can't imagine what I would need nowadays to play him, lol.

I've always felt that he should have been the heir to the throne after SVB, but we all know he's just not into tournament pool. Which is a shame because I feel he is way above Skylar and Tyler.

If I were going to play him one pocket for money...I would need two balls:geek:

He’s so solid. He doesn’t like to fly though…
