What Accu-Stats one-pocket tapes would you recommend for either entertainment/excitement value, or for educational/instructional value? DVD matches preferred, but either will do. Thanks!

One pocket is the way forward for better play, if anyone can reccommend any good dvd's i'd be interested also

This is off of onepocket.org

Five excellent One Pocket matches from Accu-Stats to get you started:

* Efren Reyes vs Billy Palmer D6-1P4
* Cliff Joyner vs Shannon Daulton D4-1P3
* Jose Parica vs Alex Pagulayan 1P00-08
* Shannon Daulton vs Efren Reyes 1P4-11
* Buddy Hall vs Jeremy Jones 1P98-08

The best one I've watched is the one where Irving Crane runs 150 balls against Balsis to win. 1966 I think.

A run of 8 in one pocket is great, but 150 is impossible. :D :p I think he only wanted one pocket matches not straight pool. :p ;)

Yea sorry, it was 14.1 should have read the post better. And of course it was not accu-stats.

But still a great watch

One Pocket is about moving and squeezing, doing two things with one shot. these are excellent tapes: Tang vs Shannon, 1999 DCC
Shannon vs Efren 1P4-11
Cliff vs Santos 1P00-04
Efren vs Nick DC-1P5
Wait till you see the move Santos puts on Cliff! Great way to learn.

You could learn from matches featuring Steve Cook. The guy could move and he won some pretty big one pocket tournaments.

I get to see Cliff Joyner everytime I go to Cues2. So I get to see him play all the time. I love watching the onepocket players. There is an elevated seating island so you can watch them from above. It's always interesting watching the stuff they'll do that you would never think of.

I'll have to get some of those accustat videos myself. I have a new passion for straight pool and 1pocket.

Buddy Hall v Steve "Stevie Wonder" Dobrowolski (wonder if I spelled that right?) has a player review and is an excellent watch. It's from the mid-90's, but I don't remember what event.

As far as one-pocket instructional dvd's...

Willie Jopling has two good one-pocket dvd's out. He doesn't have a website, but you can order the dvd's from him directly...or through me.
PM me for more details. Willie has a standing ad in Billiards Digest (on page 82 in the new issue).

Steve Cook- couldn't agree more. He moved great. Plus, what about Grady?:D

I have the Grady Mathews "the end game "and it's really a good one! there's this one shot in it that he plays position for another ball and you say to yourself WOW I wouldn't have never thought to play position like that, really out of the ordinary position shot, it sticks in my head when thinking of that shot being done when ever I see or play one pocket!:)

I have about 10 matches with Efren, and I learn something every time I watch them! also you can't go wrong with Buddy, Varner, Hopkins, Daulton, Joiner, etc.....I also have a good one of Bugs and Cornbread....that one is a classic!

My best learning tools are the vids from Grady....the end game...money pool...winning 1P...I watch these weekly and always pick up great lessons. At first I think I learn everything from the tape, then as I get better at the game, the subtleties are revealed and a whole other lesson is learned...so to speak

YO GRADY....I'm ready for the next instructional!
