I can't help but get pumped up when someone goes and plays some Tool or Pantera or something heavy with a groove like that. Also love me some Rush, Dream Theater, Satriani, Vai, etc....
blues. just blues.
when my gf's and i are playing, we like something uptempo with a strong backbeat. so going back in ancient history, how about 'pretty woman' from roy o?
i'm sure that the wit and wisdom of the forum can do much better!

Yep, Floyd here also.
Creedence comes a close second but I can get a little too into if I'm not careful. If I'm strictly having fun and don't mind missing every now and then, Zepplin, Who, Aerosmith, Molly Hatchet, Nazareth, BTO, Van Halen (NOT Van Hagar!), Rush, ZZ Top, AC/DC, well you get the picture. Hard to play serious with most of the above going though. Kinda tricky taking aim with your foot tapping and your hips moving.
Anything bluesy works also.
Cheers,
RG
I agree. Blues all the way. Just keep it cool, baby.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwJ_000saMY you dig it?Blues. I play in a blues club with a live band every night.....but you can hear both the music and each miscue because the pool room is at the other end of the building in its own little room.
Give me Clapton, BB King, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Sonny Landreth, Albert King, Howlin Wolf, Robert Johnson, and throw in a little Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, Tool, Metallica and Floyd for flavor and shoot your brains out.![]()
