Larry Price won it twice at the DCC. Still he isnt mentioned that often as a terrific banker. Wonder why?

Fargo is no joke. Shannon of course is one hell of a bank player. Brian Gregg ran 8 out the gate at the Derby, thats just too strong. I have never seen Jason Miller bank but hear he's an animal. Brian to me is banking at a high speed. Full rack it has to be Fargo.

He opened with 7 not 8, he did make a ball on the break so after he banked 7 there was 2 on the table before they spotted it. We just watched the video last week, I was sitting in the front row that night helping the paramutial bookie update the score because they had a problem with the computer, it was 7. 7 or 8 is King Kong strong no matter what,

I like Shannon, Brian Gregg equalilly and Tang Hoa if they arent avaliable. Thats Tangs shot-he told me that about 2 years ago, I was standing there talking to a friend(poolroom owner) and Tang was setting that shot up and fireing in at will like 10 in a row at light speed, when I noticed he didnt mis it, I said" How's your bank game?" he said "its ok man, but this shot(up and back) is a hanger for me". It was for sure!

From what I hear

It seems that Sylver is banking pretty sporty. If not today, he may be the best with in a few years.

This brings on an idea. Im sure its for another forum but....

I would LOVE to see a TAR Banks Ring Game, or an 8 man torurny where everyone plays each other once.

I LOVE BANKS!!!

My sources tell me Eddie Taylor was the best bank pool player in his day. ;)

Best banker alive today? There's a lot of guys who can bank today. Many of the BEST BANKERS seem to live in the Kentucky region. Any given day, one bank pool player can beat another one.

I guess it depends on the format, whether they are playing short rack or long rack. :p

Larry Price was interviewed (I think by BD) after his first DCC Bank title. During the interview Larry stated that he worked for Chase Manhattan. Larry qualifies in more ways than one. LOL

I choose James Walden and it better be on a bar table with big a$$ pockets. And if he misses make it quick because I don't want to see the end coming.

One bank shot with my life on the line. Jose Parica. For my money but not my life, I like Jason Miller, but playing for a guy's life is heavy stuff. I will trust Parica to come with the big shot.

I asked Fargo at this years DCC,besides himself who does he think the best banker is.He said he would really have to come with it to beat Daulton.

Momma would always say

1. eat your vegetables and take your vitamins

2. look both ways before you cross the street

3. say your prayers every night

4. never play bank pool with a 40+yr.old, left handed black gentleman

And now as an adult, i truely appreciate what momma useta say!

"I lived in Memphis for three years and I used to watch Tony play a lot of banks with various players. I never saw him loose to anyone at his home table at the Rack.

Once I watched Tony Fargo spread out 15 balls on a Gold Crown, take ball in hand just for the 1st shot and and bank all 15 balls. He then proceeded to do it two more times!!! Fourty five straight banks, he then turned in the balls! I asked him why he didn't see how many he could make and he just laughed and carried the balls to the counter."

I concur with this whole statement,I saw the same thing repeatedly. He even had a standing offer to let anyone come to The Rack and back the ghost playing short-rack . Tommy D.

the current administration along with dick syron and ben bernanke even banks dog shit as long as the pockets aren't already full.

Patrick, Gary SPAETH was right there with all those mentioned above. He might have had a higher gear than anyone, except maybe Truman.

One last caveat. NONE of the above banked as good as Eddie Taylor, Bugs or Cannonball. I saw 'em all play. They had a higher speed and IMO Taylor was the best ever! I watched him bank all 15 balls in practice in Dayton, Ohio at the Cue and Bridge in 1963. He almost did it a second time too, missing on the 12th or 13th ball.

P.S. Taylor's high run record was 37 banks! That's two and a half full racks. I know, I know, no one believes me. He had it listed on all his posters, and Eddie Taylor was no liar!

The Bear's 37 in a row was a fact. He also banked 35 in a row three times once my grandfather was present and said that at banking balls there was Eddie Taylor then everybody else.
