Best break cue

I'm surprised that the Fury is listed as #3. I bought one off of eBay a coupla months ago and I really didn't like it. It was far too end weighted for my liking so I sold it on eBay. I bought a J&J JB cue and I love it.
I've used a J&J jump break cue for about 10 years also, but I got mine before they went to the new shorter phelonic ferrules. Both of the shafts that I have for it are aegis ferrules and triangle tips. I have consistent breaks all the time, jumps are decent, and I can confidently run the rack if I feel like I'm in the zone and want to just run with it. I feel that its important to go with a production cue for jump and break just because of the amount of stress that they take. I can't bear put my custom cues through that abuse...
I recently picked up a Viking Fat Daddy break cue (stupid name...nice cue) and I really like it. Viking's standard ferrule, phenolic tip with a 13.5mm size and a stiff shaft taper. I got it because it was one of the more inexpensive break only cues I could find and I've had good luck with Viking in the past.
So far my break has definitely improved. I can slow down my stroke and get the same power with more control, or get more power by hitting at my normal speed. Still getting used to that tip though...I've miscued a couple times when I was trying to hit them too hard. Overall though I really like it for the $175 I paid.

I tried searching but had no luck. Someone on here were saying they put a white diamond tip on a panther or one of their cues and had the procedures of putting the white diamond tip on their phenolic tip, can anyone help me and link me to it. I just purchased a Panther 20oz JB and I will try to break with the phenolic and see how I like it, but from what everyone is saying, I should put a White Diamond tip on it. Thanks
I have no experience with putting on tips and have no tools to do it, so most likely I will just have a professional put it on for me. Can anyone recommend someone good and competent to put on the tip for me in my area? I remember someone saying that the white diamond tips are a bit hard to glue on. Thanks again.

They are hard to get but the best break cue I have ever used was a Mason,everything about it was just effortless,,,WM

I haven't had the opportunity to hit with more then 4 or 5 but my Varney takes the cake on all of them! The only other that came close was a Break cue by Stealth (I think). it was a very very light weight cue like 14-15oz. It had a Water Buffalo tip.
When a guy like me can snap a break a make 2 balls from a 10 ball rack that's pretty good. As we all know 10 ball is a tough rack for potting a ball on the break.

Out of all the phenolic break cues I find the Predator BK2 to stand above them in two areas: Break speed seems to come out at the high end of most break cues and its the only phenolic tip cue where I feel I have a bit of control over the cueball. Heck, I've managed to run a rack with it including a table length draw only chalking on the break. Works for me. I've never liked any other phenolic cue (have tried bout half dozen.)
I used to love my Predator BK, but John Parker made me a personal Break Cue & I like it better. I actually sold a Series I (only six made) of that cue & a Series II (purple heart- 6 made) & now working on Series III ( Rosewood & birdseye maple no wrap with laminated shaft). They will be ready in 60 days. I am attaching a pic of my BreakRAK Prototype for the Series I Cues

I play with my BK2 fulltime. Yes, my everyday player. I can do anything with that phenolic tip I can do with my Z shaft or my OB1. an yeah, I can draw the length of the table very easily.
Dawg: Thanks for the link. How do you find the various robot tests on the Platinum site?
Does anyone know how is their robot built? Is it a spring-loaded arm like Meucci's?
I have always used basic J/B cues. Nothing really fancy. Then I tested out the BK2. God god...I felt like Jesus just handed me a pneumatic arm to break with.
I recently got a Stinger break jump cue from Jerry Powers and it hits the rack about as good as anything I have tried .

The Samsara break /jump cue is a functioning work of art, these cues are not only gorgeous they break and jump with the best of them.

I also have a Rick Howard MACE Jump Break cue that I love.
A Schuler with the Super Constant shaft does well too.
