Best Chalk Holder

Oh yeah, can you put in a little magnetic leather flap cover to keep the chalk from flying out when I am jogging?

Jogging? You mean scrambling away from the guys chasing you to get their cash back? :grin-square:

I like the euro leather chalk holder. snaps open and closed easily I keep one in my pocket. I also have one of those chalkers on a stick that works ok just tuck the handle in your pocket.

You know this thread was bumping along just fine, until you had to go and make it all ugly. I just got my two flu shots today but still think I'm going to be sick.

Joey,

Check your e-mail. I sent you the info on the one I spoke of on the Big Easy Stream.

Hi,
I use a leather chalk pouch that I make.

It is made of real leather, double layered.

Will not come off your belt and/or make a big mess as the chalk get low.

Very easy to carry around, and is very durable.

Does not get in the way of the chalk with the stick or what not.

It does not consist of two parts so you don't need to worry about one part getting lost.

It can be attached to the front, back and side, with or without a belt.

Hope you like it. :)

Thank you.

exactly what i have a pouch much easier and so good to use, joey get 1 of these you wont regret it

The pouch looks like a good idea but... but when you put the chalk in the pouch doesn't that get chalk all over the inside of the pouch and then on your hands?

The Euro thing is great for transporting chalk but I tend to leave it on the table and lose it. Kind of expensive to be losing.

The Ultimate (magnetic) gets bumped off the holder and gets lost.

The stick thing looks like the best to me. Doesn't Euro have a stick holder that snaps shut so the chalk doesn't get all over the inside of the case?

I like this.. has the 48" chain. http://www.keybak.com/s48k.htm

I'm in the final phases of development in my invention of what I call "CIS" Chalk Injection System.

I've completed phase 1, drilling tiny holes in my cue tip inventory.

I've completed phase 2, drilling a hole down the length of my cue shaft and filling it with chalk dust.

I just can't seem to figure out how to get this damned CO2 cartridge into the butt of my cue and how to hook up a trigger. :scratchhead:

But I'm working on it. :thumbup2:

Joey,

Thank you so much for the comment about the belt loop.

I do not have a belt buckle on the pouch. One thing I have noticed is that for some shots when I have to lean over the table I prefer to take the pouch off as it sometimes get in the way being trapped under my body when I am putting it in the front. So, if I have it looped on my belt it will take too long and is just too much hassle.:)

I sometimes simply put it on the back or the side so I do not have to worry about it.

I also think some people might not really feel like taking their belts off and on in a pool hall too often.

Since there are so many belt sizes (you should see some of the really thick belts made for the ladies:eek:) it is kind of hard to find a belt loop size to accommodate all people-- a loop that is too loose will not serve the purpose well as it will move every time you reach for the chalk; one which is too tight will cause the leather to break easily.

But you can be rest assured that they can be very securely fastened to your belt the way it is designed now

I have taken some pictures to show you how it can be done. You can clip the chalk pouch to your waist line and then put your belt on top to fasten the clip in place by your belt. As long as your belt is fastened tight to your pants the pouch will not come off. The last picture shows you how the pouch can be attached to the side as I explained earlier so it will not get in the way when you need to lean over the table.

Mind you this is not the only way as it can also be used without a belt, as was shown in some pictures I posted earlier.

You can also simply clip the pouch to your belt but if you like to jog around with it as you said you do, may be your should better secure it under your belt. :)

JimS,

Thank you for your comment.

I dont usually get the chalk stain all over my hand or my pouch--the leather in the pouch is the back side of the leather which kind of just absorbs the chalk dust and will not really get your hand dirty. There aren't really much chalk dust to begin with in my case.

But if you are worried about that, you can put the chalk in a piece of those euro leather chalker and then put it in the pouch. That way, your chalk will be protected, you will not lost the euro chalker and you will never get your hands dirty. Although I do not do that but I know some customers who do.

best chalk holder

I took a flyer on the pouch after almost putting my eye out with a pocket chalker. :-) I am happy I did so.

I wear it on my right hip, above the right margin of the back pocket, and access the chalk with the same motion used to extract and replace the pocket chalker.

After a month or so of use, I began to experience "chalked" fingers. I had been replacing the chalk into the pouch open side down, which dusted the interior of the pouch with chalk.

My solution is to replace the chalk into the pouch open side up, as one would place the chalk on the rail, and I no longer have chalked fingers.

I've had no retention issues with simply wearing the pouch on the waistband of my jeans, sometimes belted, sometimes not.

As an olde farte of 65, I could not care less if some adolescent makes a gay reference.

For me what works best is the Bullet A Winchester 30-06 It heavier than the sticks so it stays in the pocket well. Have not had any problems with it. Also it does help establish a good pre-shot routine. This one I made myself but one can just buy it of ebay or from muller. http://www.poolndarts.com/p-7293-Bullet-Chalker/ Then again all of this is personal preference.

Thank you for the detailed feedback, appreciate it.:)

I use that bullet chalker too. I like it. When I wear certain pants like jeans I like the bullet chalker. When I wear slacks or pants that have pockets like that, I like my custom titlist chalker. The pocket chalkers with the string gets too worn too quickly.

BTW, I'd like to find some of that magic chalk. Nice pouch pics up there too.

Thanks for addressing my concern(s)!!! There's no e in fart. :groucho:

I just might have to try the pouch and use it in conjunction with the Euro holder.

I like the Euro holder because I can get more mileage from the chalk. As I swipe/wipe the chalk on the cue and wear it down and down I can strip off the paper on the sides of the chalk, put a quarter or two in the bottom of the Euro holder and put the chalk in on top of the quarter and it'll still be high enough to be able to hold on to it. I get double or more mileage from a piece of that expensive BD chalk by putting a quarter or a washer under it so it sticks up higher as it wears down.

Funny how I'll throw away hundreds of $$$ on a cue I never use but go to extreme lengths to make a piece of chalk last longer.

Cue Chalk Pouch

After many great posts by all, I ordered the chalk pouch from Aurora yesterday. I'm getting the black. I thought I would get my initials tooled into the leather in case I leave it somewhere.

With Aurora's proclamation about the security of the pouch not leaving your person if it is secured properly, I decided to go for it.

I like the idea of holding an entire piece of chalk in my hand instead of having it buried inside of a container. I've actually chalked my cue with a chalk holder but found it odd and cumbersome.

Now all I have to get used to is wearing a chalk apron  and returning the chalk to the pouch.

OK, now I've got to go start another thread to find out where I can buy some of that SUPER CHALK (Blue Diamond Chalk).

Thanks to everyone for your contributions to the thread. The holders are pretty cool but I'm going to try the pouch first.

I am still waiting for John Barton to bring to market my idea for the BEST DARN CHALK HOLDER in the World....

You sure we aren't related. I do the exact same thing except I use nickels versus quarters. This is whether I use my Chalky-By-Ken or Eurowrap. I know it's time to change out the chalk when it falls out of the holder and I dump change all over the place.......:eek::eek::eek:

Here is a picture of the chalk pouch I made for Joey A, with his initials tooled by hand on the front.

Thank you JoeyA.:)

You're welcome. Now all I have to do is develop a thick skin for those fragile male egos that will be so jealous.

No one around my area that I know of currently uses the pouch so if you have to move your production facility overseas, just remember where you got your start.

Let us know how you like using it. I don't care about acceptance by the masses.... just how it plays. Thanks, Jim

Edit: what kind of clip is on it? Is there another thread where it's shown better?
