Best Chalk??? I wanna change.

You are aware you believe everything you read in the paper, right?

LOL, I am probably one of the most critical thinking and sceptical people that bases all his beliefs on observable phenomena and science you will ever come across.

You REALLY missed the entire ballpark with that attempt at psychoanalysis. Nice try.

You on the other hand are here posting your opinion over and over on a product that you yourself admitted you have never even TRIED!

Try and determine which of us is basing their opinion on conjecture and baseless beliefs and not on actual observation and experience. Think hard!

I bought a set of BD chalk just to try out for fun. And it does stay on easier. The best way to notice this is when you chalk your phenolic/g10/WD tips. It's pastey enough to stay onto the tip, when in comparison to the Master chalk/Triangle/Silver cup etc... does not apply onto the tips as easy.

Another method that proves this is after a break. You'll notice that the amount of residual chalk for the BD in comparison to the rest is more. Also you definitely don't need to chalk as much, but i've gotten the habit to chalk after every shot, so my BD did wear out faster than it should.

EDIT: Although, it's good.. it's just too costly IMO. I'll just stick to masters and chalk more often. Over here in Singapore, a Masters chalk costs about a quarter, and a BD chalk delivered costs about US$5.

My experience with Master chalk hasn't resulted in a micue, ever. If I've ever miscued, it was from jumping up. No miscues w/master chalk sounds like a pretty good track record, no? How can I improve that? Why change?

I've seen so many new things come along through the years...tips, chalk, shafts...etc. Most of it is a ploy. Makes logical sense to me that people are always going to try to get in your wallet.

Buy my book. $13.99. Kevin Trudeau says it works.

Your arguements have NO logical structure, you are aware of that right?

People have been eating McDonalds hamburgers for years and years, I have eaten nothing but McDonalds hamburgers and they are fine, therefore McDonalds hamburgers are as good as any other burger out there.

People are just looking for the miracle burger that tastes awesome and these places like In'N'Out and Fatburger are selling these expensive burgers. I have never personally eaten a In'N'Out burger or a Fatburger, I have only ever eaten McDonalds but it has always been fine. Don't listen to the hype, just keep eating McDonalds hamburgers, they are just as good.

As a Chicagoan who had my first In N Out burger on a trip to California, all I can say is - sometimes the hype is not justified. Plus no Italian beef out there, or Polish sausage. :(

I agree that it's a little too easy to blame miscues on a bad stroke. My miscues tend to take place when I'm frozen to a rail and I shoot with too level a cue. I do think Blue Diamond helps, but I haven't done any Dr. Dave type thing to prove it.

You should read the book "Who moved my cheese". People need to learn to open up your mind to new stuff. If you don't try it, you'll never know if it's better.

If you've driven a Toyota all your life, can you say a Toyota is the best car in the world and Porsche is just a gimmick just because other people say it's better? :) Learn to take things with a bit of salt, not soak it in the dead sea.

I've tried and tried. Believe me!

Bad analogy by the way.

Gotta run guy and gals. Seriously, I'm going running. With these new shoes I just bought. Dr. Jesus told me they would make me run faster.

For those that didn't follow the link, some guy emailed the president of Tweeten Fibre (manufacturer of Master and Triangle) and asked two questions: Do you make Blue Diamond chalk for Longoni and is it a different formula from Master Chalk. The president answered yes to the first question and "sorry, can't answer that" to the second.

Now, I'm suspicious. It would have been easy to answer "Oh, yes, we make it according to the formula requested by Longoni". That's what Longoni says, and I don't see how it would have done Tweeten any harm to back up their story. But instead he declines to answer. Hmmm.

It looks like we have to wait for a murder to occur, where there is a billiard chalk stain on the body. Then Gil Grissom and the CSI crew will do a microscopic analysis for us and determine that the stain could only have been made by a cube of Blue Diamond, to the exclusion of all other billiard chalks. Then they will narrow the list of suspects to those who have praised Blue Diamond on the AZB website. Uh oh!

Bad analogy by the way.

There was nothing wrong with his analogy at all, or mine, you have just decided to close your mind off to things, not because of objective reasoning but instead because of a subjective belief that everything new these days must just be a ploy or crap. You will miss out on alot of crap but unfortunately you will also miss out on everything that is not crap and is actually an improvement as well.

And whats really funny is it is not marketing that is overwhelmingly telling you that Blue Diamond is not hype, it is people who actually have experience with it, notice that the chalk is not similar at all to master chalk, and that is holds to the tip better.

Being the type of person I am I was not first in line to buy Blue Diamond chalk, I let others be the guinea pigs and only when the reviews came back positive did I give it a try. That is the logical thing for a skeptic to do.

You on the other hand are not logical in the slightest, your lack of belief at this point despite the overwhelming number of people telling you their objective observations is more akin to religious zealotry, for master chalk... At this point you are the Master chalk equivalent of a creationist talking about evolution. Refusing to look at data or do an objective study of the topic. And THAT analogy is only going to be perceptable by those on the outside looking in so don't bother trying to see it. Blind faith is called "blind" for a reason.

All hail Master Chalketh, for it allows me less miscues in green pastur... err on green felt.

This is way too long of a post for me to read. I'm flattered you wrote me a short novel. I promise you when I get back, I will read it in its entirety and give you a good response.

Seriously, if you directly sell a product which nets you millions of dollars per a year in profit and which you atm hold the lions share of the world market you are not going to help advertise a product that you manufacture for a company which hold the rights to the formula and trademarks of "blue diamond".

If somone wanted to take a piece of each chalk, crush both samples into powder, and do a chemical analysis they could find out exactly what goes into each type of chalk. It would be very easy. Mind you a person would have to be some kind of bored and have some money lying around they don't really want.

OK Russ, I've entered into your world of high price chalk! Masters is pretty messy. Thanks for all the opinions.

I didn't say everything new is a ploy...I said "most".

Do you think I'm a caveman? I have evolved you know. I've also tried out tons of new things! I just think MOST are just trying to get at your dough.

We aren't talking about new titanium drivers that allow kids like Michelle Wie hit a golf ball a billion yards. We aren't talking about new and improved drugs. I get that things are much more improved these days but we're talking about CHALK. How much better can you make chalk? I'm pretty sure that chalk hit its peak when they invented Master chalk.

I never thought in a million years that I'd be arguing over chalk. LOL.

Maybe they'll invent something better than Johnson & Johnson baby powder?

Guaranteed improvement

I'm pretty sure it is guaranteed to make you play 1 - 11/2 balls better too!
