Them was some great prices...He wasn't getting what he was wanting so he just canceled the auctions..
...Call it what you will but they were never good prices if he never intended on selling them "IF" he ever really had possesion of them...I have a Gus for sale for 5.00(thats right five dollars) plus shipping. you have exactlly .00005 tenths of a second to respond...to late times up...I'm sorry I never really wanted to sell it anyways...:grin:You Might Be Right...

The word that I hear from the Az herd is that he was ratted out by a Schon retailer for offering to sell shafts lower than the factory recommended (bloated) prices. They say...the Big Schon cheese at the factory made him pull the ebay ads because his prices were to low.
Just, what I was told by another Az'er. I saved Bigfan999 (john) phone number and possibly will be calling him, to see if the above story is true? If he has any stock, money talks or you know what walks.
In any light, if he is has access to a supply from Schon (not China) and can sell them at 60/75% off list, and still make a profit. I can see how Mueller can afford those nice glossy catalogs and TV ads. I don't begrudge a dealer a profit. But, this is a rough economy/market and many buyers are balking at these high past wishful cue stick prices.
But you might just be right. The ebay starting bid asking prices were extremely low possibly to excite auction bidders into a feeding war.
I didn't jump into bid as something just didn't feel right. I've had many good and fair purchases on ebay, but, I've also been burned. If its too good to be true it usually is. I really rather buy a Schon from a Az dealer but right know I'd need about 60% off. Just have to keep using my Joss.

Yeah, when I read the title Walmart popped up in my head.
Maybe K-Mart will sell them someday.
Trust me on this one...NO ONE can give you 60-75% off a brand new Schon cue. Evan Clarke just doesn't give that type of discount to any dealer. Only way a person could do that would be if it was a Chinese copy or was acquired via 5-finger discount.

The real ones are made by Schon. The fakes aren't. I hope that helps....
All kidding aside, the easiest spot to look for a fake would be in the butt end. Evan uses a very thick rubber bumper, and a large headed weight bolt in the bottom. If I was determining authenticity, that's where I would look. There is also a phenolic "cushion" that surrounds the brass insert in the shaft.
Now that you can get them in wallyworld and other online sites they are priceless.

I was one of the poor saps who was bidding on a skull cue from this guy when he canceled his auctions. I too had my doubts as to whether he actually had the cues or not. I do have a friend that use to own the local pool hall here in my town. He use to sell schons and he told me that a dealer has a 100 percent mark up. So if Schon advertises the cue for 1200? The dealer gets it for 600. Now this being the case??? THis guy could have been selling the cues on ebay legit. He was making about 100 bucks a cue or so and every now and again hitting a home run. I wasnt happy when he canceled his auctions. I am looking to buy a skull cue if any one has one. Thanks Bgdave

you are right on the markup , and i do know if you get hooked up to buy
wholesale ,the wholesale house tells you how much to mark down .
if you drop price below there standard they will drop you from buying
from them. those wholesale houses are very independant , they are moving thousands of cues , they could care less about selling 15 or 20
cues to the little man. who makes the skull cue , i may have a line on one.
