3M Durabond 10 is the best. Looks like mustard but works like a champ. I JUST finished my GC III for the second time in as many weeks. Initially I bought Brunswick SuperSpeed cushions and the nose on one was bad and two others were going. Not bad enough that you could tell until they were already installed however......damn it!

I put a set of Championship Tour Edition K55's on it and it plays perfect now! Couldn't ask for a better more accurate response from a cushion. Here's some pic's and already have about 10 hours play time on it and finished up late Saturday night :D

Scotch Grip Neutral 10, but I think I read somewhere that they may have changed the name to Durabond 10, but I just bought some here in Vegas and it was still under the name "Scotch Grip Neutral 10"

Nope, we're all wrong! Reading from the can it's now called "3M Scotch-Weld Neoprene Contact Adhesive 10". How's that for a mouth full??? Anyway, it works great and after letting it sit for a minute or so, it bonds very quickly to make setting cushions a breeze.

And thanks for posting those pictures up there. I still haven't figured out how to do that.

Beautiful table. Are those non-GC pockets? If so, why?

Notice in the picture of the full table that the ball return and box are laying on the floor? I'm not a fan of ball returns so I converted. The drop pockets I order from Meullers, and although they have the bosse in each, they are not in the correct location. It made the pockets stand above the corner castings by about 1/2". Anyway, to make a short story long....I converted and those were the pockets advertised as fitting the GC tables. They work but not as they should and they look and function well.

GC pockets

They look very nice. A few years ago, I bought a used GC 4 and the pockets were non Brunswick with the bolsters. Problem was the bolsters had pushed through on 3 of them, so I had a set ordered from Brunswick
($95.00 shipped to Fla). A cousin that worked for Trangle Billiards in LA got them for me and I am told that was a good price.

Yeah, I should have just went with original pockets but wanted to save some $$. Now if I put another nickel into this table, I won't have any balls....my wife will have them! Yikes!

Whoever recovered the table prior to me getting it damaged the formica on three of them putting the feather strips in. I took all of the rails to Carolina Cue (just across the lake from me) and had Matt re-cut the dadoe on the formica side and he did them perfectly on their milling machine they use for cutting cue inlays & points. There is only one small spot on an end rail that you can still see but I will live with that one! Only had to custom make one new feather strip on a band saw. I'm VERY happy with the result and Matt did a bang up job for me!! Kudos Matt....should you read this!!

Scotch-Grip name changed
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From an earlier post when I was looking for the right glue....

After all of your recomendations to use Scotch-Grip I went to a local supplier and found out that the name is now changing to 3M Scotch-Weld Neoprene Contact Adhesive 10. The supplier called 3M to confirm this was the same product and it is. 3M is going to be using Weld and getting rid of a bunch of other names....

I just finished my GCII project I have been working on for a while. I put new Atremis rubber on, tightened the pockets and now its done for now, until I decide to rip it apart again for something, probably tournament blue Simonis. I used the 3M Scotch-Weld Neoprene Contact Adhesive 10. I have been using DAP Weldwood contact adhesive for a while, and just tried out the 3M stuff and I will never go back to DAP again.

Nice work Reverend! It's very much worth the efforts isn't it? How does it play?

The table plays pretty damn well. I really like the new rubber. Now I just wish I could find it for cheaper, that damn k55 shit is expensive!

How do you like that belt sander...LOL, nice work!

Glen

Love the belt sander, easiest way to get the best results on rails. I have never gotten the rubber to be so smooth and follow the angle of the sub-rail so closely. I almost didn't want to cover up the cushions with the facings because it looked so good.
