Tommie1351 has some Cues in the Price Range, after looking call him to talk cues, and he will treat you right! JMHO.

Thos eare interesting cues. Just curious, was is there a $1,200 difference in price when the only real difference I can see between the two is one has birdseye windows?

Lots of differences...see website for the added specs...ivory over stainless joint (ala Dennis Searing), ivory ferrules, matched shafts, select woods, heart-cut birdseye forearm and inlays...other higher cost construction items that you would need to speak with Leon about.
Plus, I "gave" away the other cue in order to generate some quick cash prior to the surgery...it should have been $1200...Joe

For a Plain jane or a sneaky...with 1000$ you can really buy almost any cue build by a custom cuemaker. Cory barnhat, Jeff Olney and Keith Josey got my vote. I Own one Cory barnhat with one shaft for around 500$ and it's play great. I also play with 2 PJ Olney's with 450$ each and they play great too. Keith Josey is a Master Cue maker of ACA 2011. I believe for 1000 $, You can get his Plain jane cue with 2 shaft and Leather wrap...
If i were you, i won't use my 1000$ for a Production cue. I Will use it for a custom one. The one that can hold it's value, if somehow you don't like the hit.

I like Cognoscenti cues, Richard Harris and Murray Tucker and Mezz cues. Not specifically in that order.
