Best Money Player Alive Today

My bad, I just amended my post and put Efren in the top ten where he belongs. I dogged it on that one. Sometimes we don't see the forest for the trees :). Although I think his best days are behind him. IMO he has slipped a ball or so. But he is the Magician and could well prove me wrong.

Efren has slipped a little, you can't stay on top forever and you can't stay motivated forever either, not after winning everything for years

having said that, I don't know any player on earth that would play him a long session with their own money and no spot except maybe Alex

I've heard Orcullo has done just that and beat him but I'm not sure how true that is, I've also heard Shane wanted a piece of him too

I personally think the Orcullo stories have been blown out of proportion and Shane was definetly being premature chasing down the monster as evidence by his match against Alex

Efren remains the best Rotation player on the planet, as far as I know. And no one yet has taken his One Pocket crown away. He still has pretty good credentials in the pool world, but he must hear the footsteps getting closer.

Alex P. will play anybody in the world for $10,000 - $20,000 right now! He is the current TAR champion and will play ANYONE, I have mentioned many times that I will put up the money.

Does he want to go to Alanta??

Two multimillionaires barking back and forth about 10-20K... come on.... Us bums working 9-5 putting in hours can put that kind of cash together. Let's see some 100K+ action!

Let's not make something between Archer and Pagulayan out of noting. I'm sure these two have avoided each other out of mutual respect and knowing there are better games.

However it would be a challenge match worth paying appearance fees for, I'm sure both players would play their hearts out due to their competitve nature.

It may never decide our best money player question but we'd see one hell of a match I'm sure!

We will all be at Derby or at the US Open, I think either would be the perfect place to set up this match, Alex doesn't get over here too often.

If Fatboy puts Johnny in the Fatboy Challenge (hint hint), they may well get to play a long match. We are playing Races To Fifteen Ten Ball!

i dont know if he is comming to the Derby, he might take the time off,,, he has been going non-stop this year.

Alex is just a beast, plain and simple. I've stated before he may be the single best overall player in the world, both for cash and tourneys, ALL GAMES, and may have in fact exceeded Efren's accomplishments for his age

the number of players on earth that have a realistic shot against him in a long money match can be counted on one hand

Alex is a world champ and proven money match monster so anyone who really wants a piece of him should seek him out, trust me, he won't decline, just don't expect him to travel to [insert small unknown town here] to play you on your beat up 8 footer because you know how to get on a message board and claim to be willing to play for big cash
last time i looked johnny was a 4time world champ.

sorry for not being clear, Johnny has obviously earned the right to bark and challenge whomever he wishes, others, not so much...

My picks

Alcano, Orcullo, Van Corteza, Pagulayan, Kiamco, Gallego, Parica, F.Bustamante, Reyes

In close to that order. But on any given day that all could change. It also depends on the game. I like that order in 9-ball and 10-ball. In rotation and 8-ball, I flip between Alcano and Reyes.

Its been a couple of years ago, but Orcullo did best Pagulayan a couple of times for the cash, FWIW.
http://www.articlearchives.com/sports-recreation/sports-recreation-events/1477250-1.html I think it would be a great TAR match to make.
Thanks for posting, it was good to read.

Alex definatley gives Orcollo credit when he talks about the best cash players over there.

To me Alex's advantage may be that he can play so well in the US. Table conditions are so different than in the rooms there.

No one in the world has to like going to play Orcollo on his home turf.

Yang liked it- A lot too.

I'd like to see Round Two of this match-up. I'll bet Dennis again. Who knows, they may play since Yang will be over there. You know there will be action after these matches are through. I wish I was there now. These guys will match up and play, that's for sure. Please someone (Bandido) keep us posted.

10ball you could say alex or shane is the best money player in 9ball untill somebody beats him johnny archer is still the best.

I like Alex and Bartrum. Chris gives a 110% in each ball he shoots. Thats why I like him. Alex is just hell for the cash. SVB is also high up there.

Everybody keeps trying to figure out who the best player that gambles is. The OP wanted to know who the best money player is. Seems like that would be whoever has the best winning percentage. There's a good chance it isn't even a top flight player. Probably someone not known to the general public. You don't have to be a world beater to be the best money player. You just have to be real good at matching up.
Well if we go by this then I vote for myself. When I was playing not many will dispute this. Very few ever walked away with my cash.

Hey Fatboy ask JA about Steve Wiggams in Myrtle Beach, that was Weenie Beenies goto guy and not many got the cash.I don't know if JA played him as he was 16 or 17 then and hadn't hit top gear yet.

Stop woofing

If you think about it none of the elite players are money players anymore. How often is there a game unless it's a tar special.

I'm sorry I just can't keep my mouth shut. The guy earlier said winning 70% of your gambling matches is strong. My winning percentage over the last 3 years is only 90%... not very good. (:

I appreciate that you come on here and bark about playing. I actually do enjoy it. If you really want to be played why don't you post up a list of players you would like to play and how (like Chris Bartrum did) and let's see if we can get you some action.

I believe everyone here would like to see this list as having a "nuetral racker"
