I am finishing this one for about the 3rd., or 4th. time. Next one is the Hustler by Trevis. This will be a first time real of the Hustler.

Just started Running the Table and am enjoying it. I'll report in when I finish it. McGoorty was great for some 'old time' fun.

McGoorty is, by far, the best of the bunch I've read, followed closely by Hustlers and Heroes, Legends and Lies, and the Search for Higher Truth on the Green Felt by John Grissim.

As if there were any remaining doubts, I'll say that McGoorty was indeed a thrilling book. It's been a long time since I was so caught up in a book that I couldn't put it down.

I'm also super excited about the Beard releasing the Encyclopedia of Pool Hustlers soon. That is going to be another awesome read.

I just started the Cornbread Red book. So far, so good!

ROAD PLAYER: The Danny Diliberto Story by Jerry Forsyth is another book that I greatly enjoyed.

Read Danny Basevich's and Bobby Cotton's.

Just starting Playing Off the Rail. If the the rest of this book continues like the first few pages, it will also be a gooder.

Lent Danny's out and don't suspect that I will see it again. About time to re read Bobby's when I am finished the Rail.

Read em twice as you can always pick out stories and tid bits that you missed the first time around.

Just finished McGoorty and Willies Game, both were interesting Willies was more pool orientated. Both give a look at a different time in both pool and in general.

Buddy Halls book is great but you need a microscope to read it-the print is so small.

Most recent that I've added to my collection and read were The Other Side of The Road - Alfie Taylor and Rags To Rifleman, which took a while to find for a decent price (Fatboy is right the print is very small but a very good read). Both are very good books, I thought that Alfie's book was very well written. Other ones I would recommend are McGoorty (The original if you can to get the real rawness of the story, a few things were toned down in the later editions I believe, although the one had added pictures). Others: Cornbread Red, Grissim's Billiards, Jay's Pool Wars, Road Player and The Lion's and The Lambs.

I've read the above mentioned books and they are all good. Don't forget, One Pocket Man and Painting on a Green Canvas.
