Kolby's Corner Pockets, Tempe AZ. Great room, Great Staff, Great TD Tracy, Clean, Good equipment, Good Food.

Years ago I would have said North Hollywood Billiards, in North Hollywood CA (when Tip Panye was the owner), and Baker's Billiard in Burbank, CA. About 5 mile apart.

Think Baker's is gone, and North Hollywood is still open. But i have not been there since the 80's.

The Corner Pocket 12686 Starkey Rd. Largo, Florida - very clean, tables are in great shape, owner is a good guy too.

I agree, you can't seem to go wrong with Kolby's.

Shooter's of Greensboro. Very cool guys, Trevor and Eric. Diamonds, 4 1/2 X 9's and barboxes. Good and loud music, good food. Full bar. Constant action. What else do you need?

If ever TD was like Tracy Anderson, who makes you feel wanted,at home, welcome, things would be better in the Pool World.

Big O's in Tampa (north Dale Mabry) is very nice.

Gonna have to check this place out. There was a Planet Pool right up the street from me in Tampa, but I think its closed now.

I think it is called On Cue now, but it used to be called La Mesa Billiards..

It is located in La Mesa California...(San Diego area)

It used to be a super nice room when I went there..

Romaines in Milwaukee WI.
Bensingers... Chicago
Billiard Palace...OK
Congress...Miami
Hard Times...Costa Mesa
SF pool rooms on Market Street...60's - 80's
Room in San Diego that Mark Griffin now owns.
Any of the original old time rooms in MN will do..

Pro-Tyme Billiards, Orland Park, IL. Of the many...MANY pool rooms I've been in, in this country, it rates at the top of my list of cleanest, nicest pool rooms in this country, and Ed is one hell of an owner to boot, can't wait to see the room he's planning on opening in downtown Chicago:D

I sent you a private message Kane.

I'm not surprised, was in there half doz times and nothing special was my thoughts, everything was flat, no overview of the play area which for an action/player room is very helpful, but all in all dull, I liked the dirty pool room feel of Fatzos much better, plus their was action, tho tough. But Romaines in Milwaukee sure has allot going on, the racetrack shape of the 360 degree bar sits up above the whole room, what's really neat, the whole lenghtwise section of the bar thats closest to the outside wall has two sectioned playing areas for private parties and they rope off their reserved area and have their own private access to the bar during their function, pretty cool/different. The room is full of 8 foot and 9 foot Gold Crowns and I think also many 7 footers. Even if your not a player one should stop in and have lunch, there's allot going on, it'd take ya 30 minutes to just walk around the room and ck everything out. 25,000 square feet would be my guess.

Golden Fleece aka Russian Dave's in Kenmore, WA... Ten 9-foot diamond tables and nothing but pool players!

Dr. Cues in Shoreline, WA is a good one, but it's my home room, and I'm there all the time.

And one of the most tight pocketed Diamond tables in the country:D

Well, Tiff's is still open (now N. Hollywood Billiards) but since Tiff left and it was bought by "Larry" it has been a downhill slide. The snooker table which had non-stop golf action all day now rarely see's a game and the top US 3-cushion players that were fixtures there are all gone. It used to be my main haunt and now I won't even walk in the door. Tiff Payne was an amazingly great character who is sorely missed. Here's an example of his flawless wit and humor:

The room had a back door to the alley and it was not uncommon for a few players to step out the back door and smoke a "joint". Tiff walks in one day and says aloud for all to hear "man, times must be pretty tough, 5 guys outside all sharing one cigarette"

He was a great guy.

The best room I've been to in a while was Ist Billiard 8 in Zurich last week. Its the nicest room I've found in Europe. I played at Magoo's in Tulsa on Friday night, and I was surprised to see that the Billiards Palace was closed.

I'll be back in Asia this weekend. I really think that is where the best rooms are.

There's a Baker's billiards in Fontana, Ca., but they've been there for at least 30 yrs.
I play at Gary's Victor Billiards in Victorville,Ca. John Schmidt has high regard for the tables there.
