In the charleston, sc area I just saw their league trophies

Basicaly little bobble head guys with an 8-ball or 9-ball on the head on a trophy stand. Much better than the 1970s looking trophy of the guy at the table in my opinion.

It would be interesting for AZBers to show us pictures of unusual trophies they has seen or won. Maybe someone can post a picture of the trophy Meezer Girl mentioned?

When Rempe won the world one pocket title, his trophy was a large clock with an engraved plate to name his achievement.

When Rempe won the national championship of Poland, the trophy was an allabaster bowl...again very tasteful.

When he won the national 14.1 championship, he was awarded an ornately engraved silver platter.

I know the "guy on the table" trophies of the 70's may seem trite, but that era had some really nice trophies too.

brick from prison wall

when i played in the league in the late 70's or early 80's in kansas city mo. paul gurney was associated with the league, and set up a deal where we went to levenworth ks federal prison and our team played the prison team. [ we got our clock cleaned by the way ]. we were each given a brick from one of the walls they were rebuilding. it had a brass plate on it with my name the date and stating that it was an brick from a federal prison. not a real fancy trophy but one with a lot of meaning. chuck starkey

The bobble heads sound nice, but I like the pool guy trophies too. At least you can tell they are for playing pool. I've got some trophies that are no more than swirley things on a stand. For all anyone knows at first sight, they could be for employee of the month. :embarrassed2:

This stein was presented to E.H. Lougee in 1911(on back). This is the inscription on the front "The Gernier Trophy, First Prize, Annual Pool Tournament, BPOE, 531"

Leave it to...

Leave it to the old Elks Club to come up with one of the best trophies ever.

Combine a monument to winning a pool tournament and a way to drink up in celebration of it, all in one!

1996 Camel Pro Billiards Series Showpiece

_small10420085259PoolTrophy.png.JPG

This is the 1996 PBT/Camel Pro Billiards Series Trophy. There was only 200 made and is a rare item to find. It has the #1 player, Johnny Archer signing the 1-ball, #2 player, Efren Reys signing the 2-ball, etc. through the 15-ball signed by Howard Vickery, who placed 15th that year.

The trophy is made of solid mahogany wood to resemble a pool table and weighs over 22 pounds. The player names are lasered into the wood and the PBT and Camel Pro Billiard Series logos are also lasered. All in all, it is a beautiful trophy.

They originall
y sold for $695 and I've seen them selling on eBay every now and then for over $1,000. Nick Varner told me that this is the best looking trophy he has ever seen.
