Best pool Xmas presents -- any ideas?

My wife's bugging me to come up with a list of presents I want this year. Tis the season, right?

Obviously, pool being hugely important to me, this should be a goldmine. But my mind's drawing a blank right now.

So my question is this: say you have all the cues you want, the cases etc. etc., what would you say were the best Xmas presents for a pool player?

What do I really need in my (pool) life? I mean smaller things -- obviously I'd love a table, but living in NY, this would mean my wife first buying the gift of a multi-million dollar apartment that's big enough to contain a table. And that's not going to happen.

I'm thinking smaller things. Gadgets, gizmos etc. Oh, and I'm a pretty accomplished player, so I don't need anything that takes me through the basics. Something that's going to take me higher, or just give me enjoyment.

My recommendation to anyone out there is the two Walter Tevis books, The Hustler and The Color of Money. I'm sure we've all seen the movies, but have we all read the books? They're fantastic, both well-written and good stories. And no Tom Cruise character at all in TCOM. Put them on your wish list.

Happy holidays.

Get a gift card from the local pool room for x amount of free pool hours on it.

Get a free pass to go see your local pro tournament or exhibition aka U.S. Open 9 ball or Super Billiards Expo.

Get yourself a CUESHARK Original clip on ultimate tool. When I'm not home i don't play without it. Most people consider it costly, but it's made of aircraft anodized aluminum, is made in the good ole US of A and it has a lifetime warranty!!! You can have it personalized with your name or other message LASER etched at no extra charge when ordering it. Or a personalized embroidered towel for your case. Both items are sold by fellow AZers here & are a pleasure to deal with. How can you go wrong?

Entry into one or more of the tournaments to DCC or any other tournament you've been wanting to play in. Memories for a lifetime (unless you play in them all ready).

every poolplayers perfect present

more time to hang around a poolhall without getting hassled.....lol!

or a trip to the dcc, usopen, sbe would be nice

Does she play pool too? Just wandering as I have a brand new 1 of a kind Meucci rose cue for sale that is reportedly the only orange rose cue they ever made, the rest were red. Anyway a very nice and beautiful ladies cue that I am going to sell between now and Christmas and I'll take some pics if anyone wants to see the cue.--Leonard

You *definitely* want to check out the next edition of Pool Synergy - coming December 15th then. It'll be a giant list of gift ideas from all the blog authors listing off their favorite gadgets, tools, books, vids, etc. Keep an eye out for the official announcement, the morning of December 15th.

Unless you're already a collector, there are a ton of cool pool books out there.

Everything from instructional material from Freddie the Beard, Dr Dave, Grady, Byrne if you play billiards (these guys all have material that advanced players can still learn from) to Dyers books about pool legends, hustler stories from Cotton, Jungledude who are members here, etc...

Accu-Stats or TAR videos are always good. They both have some fantastic matches.
