I am going to buy a 9ft Pro-Am Diamond.
I want the Blue label with the leveling system.
I don't mind if it was a tournament played table.

In another words the Latest and Greatest...

Diamond quoted me $5500 to my door in Mississippi (39466) and set up. I have also talked to a few more gentleman that told me a little cheaper.

Who can and will get me the cheapest price out there.. KEEP in MIND I am not just looking around.

I AM A SERIOUS BUYER!!!!

Thanks,

I have been looking for a Diamond Pro myself for 6 mos. I found a few that were awesome tables priced less than a new one, but, the set up and delivery killed it.

I opted to order a new table with the new specs just the way I wanted it. I don't have to worry about hiring someone to pick it up and set it up for me now. It is real easy to reach a grand for the move and set up. If you need new cloth, figure another 400-500.

I hope you find a table that is close enough to work out for you. I sure didn't have any luck with it.

Zack...Wow...just wow! You're gonna spend $5K+ on a table, but you won't spend a few hundred to really learn how to get the best use out of it? Good luck!

Is this a joke? If not I have a few friends who are looking to buy tables and would like to learn how to get the best use of them. I'm sure they would pay way more than a few hundred to learn but if they don't learn anything you would have to pay them the same amount. Kinda like both parties posting a guarantee the other one will "learn" something.

I'll play you some for the lesson.. $100 sets. Then you can really get the best feel for how I play..

I was really thinking I was trying to help you Scott since you was down here with family issues. I thought I might through you $50 or $100 and say I got a lesson from you. But you wanted $350 for 4 hours..lol. That is CRAZY!! And just because I wanted a lesson doesn't mean I play BAD by any means.

LIKE I SAID I'LL JUST TRY YOU SOME EVEN...

And really I don't think it is very professional of you to get in here and say something like that..

wtf is this? op is asking for advice on how to buy a table and he gets twits peddling their wares and blasting him...someone's bitter for not getting hired i see. lmfao, pathetic

and regarding those rates, sure they're not out of line with any kind of pro instruction but at the same time that kinda cash gets you almost any pool teacher or even pro player you like, so it's not like anybody is missing an opportunity by passing up $90 /hr instruction, I've had world class champions charge me alot less

How serious are you and your friends?

Buy more than one table and you cut the price of delivery and get volume discounts.

I need one home table not a pool room full..

You should look into talking to Gilmer down in Starkville. I know he was talking about getting several new Diamonds in his hall. Maybe you could work something out that way.

You are out of line with this post. I think buying a table first, practicing and going as far as one can on their own is the best way to learn. As long as the fundamentals are good and not really bad habits are developed than this is the way to go IMO. Then lessons can help later.

I had always held you and your opinions in high regard on this site Scott, but for whatever reason I have seen several posts by you in the last few months that come off as a bit harsh.

To each his own but to crash a guys thread because he didn't take a lesson from you (especially at $350/4hr if that is true) is immature and unprofessional.

Zack -

Just a couple suggestions and they might not work as you are wanting something quickly. I tried for about 4-6 months on ebay and craigslist looking for a used Diamond and the results were ZERO.

But,

1. If you can go to a tournament (ie DCC) you might be able to pick one up at a discount.

2. Brian Roberts is a dealer, and a great guy in Louisville. (502) 969-2222. It doesn't cost anything to make a phone call and he helped me find a Diamond light (8 foot) at a steal of a price.

3. At one time, I looked at going and picking a table from the factory up in New Albany. It was cheaper, but I don't remember how many years ago, and how much cheaper.

Sorry not much help, but shared trying to help.

I wish you the best of rolls,

Ken

Step right up, Scotty boy. I grew up with Zack and he is already a real good player. You're so out of line it's a joke.

Oh yeah! But does he really know how to use a pool table? It's got pockets you know! Lol @ Scott.

I like the "good luck" at the end like a person is just gonna stand there dumbfounded what to do with a pool table. Ha ha!

A new diamond should be a real nice to have to those who can afford one: a used one too for that matter if one can be found; but Gold Crowns are much more plentiful on the used market. For anyone who wants to go that route, I was reading a long thread last night from 2010 on the subject of "diamondizing" a gold crown.

Everytime I try to post a link I fail; so just go to google and type ... Diamondizing Brunswick gold crowns: az billiards ...The first entry should say ...diamondizing table thread... That's it. If you want to cut to the chase, Real King Cobra gives a detailed explanation of the process in post 41.

Edit:: when I first wrote this, I included quotation marks around "Diamondizing Brunswick gold crowns: az billiards" ...do not include the quotation marks when typing into google. It won't work. Sorry if I led anyone astray.
