I have been thinking about this for a while. Every now and then I have access to low cost airline tickets and was interested in knowing where the best "weekend" tournaments were located.
The Jay Swanson tournament is February 9 & 10th and is just outside of LosAngeles in Hollywood, CA. Cost for a round trip ticket retail one stop is about $400 and that is probably the highest retail cost for a RT ticket from New Orleans. Except for the cost of hotel, my costs would be relatively low.
Does anyone have any "weekend" annual tournaments that you would recommend for having a good time? Please state if a rental car would be needed.
By weekends, I mean Friday, Saturday and Sunday or even ONE DAY TOURNAMENTS which are even better. Any discipline is fine with me as I like most any one.
If you have a tournament that you would like to suggest for me to attend because YOU like it, please let me know. I don't think I will be going to a lot of them but I might go to one every now and then. Others on AZ might be interested in knowing of "weekend" tournaments that are designed for the working man.
About the only thing that I don't like about pool tournaments are the ones with standing room only. It just isn't worth it to me to have to stand like a penguin for days one end, trying to sweat a match or to have four and twenty railbirds chirping full volume in my ear as I bear down on a shot.
Thanks,
JoeyA
