Better in the Summer, or Winter?

Do any of you find that the weather, season, or time of year affects your quality or level of play?
I have friends that play from about October to March, then the play softball of some outdoor activity. Personally, I play all year, but I play best when the weather gets better but my game really takes a hit during the winter months, and this year in particular.
Anyone else experience anything similar?

I do struggle at the beginning of he summer when the humidity kicks in .. After 25 years you would think the adjustment would get easier but nope lol

I think I play better in the spring/summer. I get better sleep and more exercise and that makes me more alert at the table.

Back when pool halls were a lot more abundant, one of my favorite memories was walking into one of my regular places in spring time with sun, birds and a nice breeze following me in. Then you are in a semi-dark place with folks you know and it almost like being inside by a fire on a winter day, very comfy feeling. If they leave the door open a bit you get that nice outside sping breeze going in.

I'm not really sure, but probably a little better in winter. During the winter my focus is on pool and not much else for my recreational activities. Come spring and through until the late fall I split my focus between pool and golf. I don't stop playing pool but the amount of time I devote to it definitely drops.

I don't play much pool in the spring and summer as I would rather be outside doing many different things. Because of this if I do happen to play in the summer I always seem to be out of stroke.

My game always suffers at the beginning of my pool season as well and that comes from the break I take from the game over the warm weather months.

If playing better is defined by amount of losses it would definitely be the summer time because of not playing in the summer I don't lose.

Works for me...

I do a lot of cycling in summer and pool sees no beatings then, therefore!

Great post hang the 9. I feel more comfortable in a pool room than anywhere. Don't know why that is but I do. Watched the moon landing on a small black and white in a pool room.

"Winter depression is still a mystery to scientists who study it. But researchers agree that people who suffer from seasonal affective disorder are particularly sensitive to light, or the lack of it"

I play pool better when I am in a better mood, don't know about you, but playing better in the summer makes me think the above.

definitely play better in the summer

I despise cold weather...looking forward to playing in Vegas this August! If Heaven doesn't have HEAT, then I'm not staying!

I think I play better in nice weather rather than the cold, miserable weather we have in the winter.

Psychological reasons aside, I think humidity change impacts our ability to play well more than time of year or other weather condition. A dry day followed by a few humid days, then dry again messes with our instincts pretty good.

i did not want to guess , so i looked up my history.:D

apa has 3 sessions a year.

spring . 51%...47 % ...38%
summer..60%..55%...45%..41%
fall...64%..40%...50%...50%.

it seems i have a better win% during fall in apa which encompasses all through january

napa breaks it down for you....matter of fact they have a stat for just about every thing under the sun it seems.

spring...63%
summer...55%
fall...30%
winter..65%

spring and winter are darn near identical in napa and it seems i play my best during winter in both leagues.
