To Ohplayer, Thanks for sharing your experience with Brent so far. The cue is looking great and knowing Brent's reputation, it'll play as great as it looks. Sorry to have participated in the distraction. Hopefully it goes away.

Forums are here for people to share ideas and opinions, you may disagree or agree but once all the opinions are the same the forum will die.
I don't believe you have made any issues to support the opinion that got me to post, so does that mean you agree with me?
Maybe you'd feel better if we had more people posting like Busboy, yeah he's no troll, we need more of them around here.

If a person feels something said is a lie or misleading where is the harm in pointing it out? What are you affraid of? Do you agree with the original statement? I have not made one derogatory comment about Brent or his cues, yet somehow everyone feels I somehow attacked the guy. Is it only cool if we kiss everyone's ass and lie?

As far as derailing the thread, well that was not my intent, I've been attacked now and responded to those attacks because my comments are being painted in the wrong light.
Nothing said was anti Brent yet you've all assumed that or somehow read that in what I wrote and it couldn't be further from the truth. There has yet to be one person to say or prove that what I am saying is wrong, or even someone to disagree with me, yet plenty of outrage. I don't understand that mentality, if I am wrong just prove me wrong, or in the least tell me you agree with the statement that "Brent builds cues almost better than anyone."

If you want to brag about your cue or your cuemaker that's fine, but when you want to make a claim that drags in all other cuemakers then you need to be accurate or expect to be called on it.

Brent makes a great cue.
I believe Brent's cues are the best out there.
I choose Brent's cues over all others
I think Brent's cues hit the best.
Brent is a great guy.

All ok to say and post, but the minute you say.

Brent makes better cues than anyone.
Brent's cue hits better then ________(fill in the blank)
Brent does ________ (fill in the blank) better than everyone

Give some proof or be called out. "Better than most" IMO is a strong term, one I doubt I would use with any name. But hey that's just me, you guys all seem fine with it. Except I have still not seen one person tell me I am wrong, or that they agree.
 
I'm done with this thread, you can walk around happy with your good ole boys club mentality with your heads in the sand. Enjoy all the back slapping and cliques, you guys can all blow smoke and asskiss all you'd like. I hope we get another 25 posters like Busboy here, he adds a lot and certainly is no troll, I've learned a tremendous amount from the content he has added. Anyone who wants can PM me.

Once more I do appologize to Breant and the OP, your wood is cool and the cue is looking great, I'd love to see it finished. I am sure it will be a great cue. If you claim it's the best cue ever built I may come back though :thumbup:
 
Wow, Im glad now in a way that I didnt have time to get on AZ and post. Josh is a stand up guy and Brent makes a solid cue. The verbal diarrhea that found its way into your post Josh is childish at best.

Hopefully when I start sending pics of the cue I'm making for you, there will be less fodder floating around. Being I'm so shy, reserved, uneducated, simplistic, and devoid of any reasonable, cognitive thought, I probably wont be able to respond in a fashion that won't derail someone's nervous system. :rotflmao1:

I rarely take issue with the kind of posts this @$$ is posting but after all, this is the Internet, where you can slander anyone one you want to, be the baddest m'fer on the block ( without fear of ever having to back it up), or distribute useless or erroneous information for your own enjoyment, but I think besides being a troll, I think this idiot is a pompous @$$ who has probably had too much coffee or too many drugs and can't shut up. If I had to guess I would say he lives in South Florida is probably a neighbor of mine and I'm curious who it is.

Now that we've returned to our regularly scheduled programming.....Josh/Brent how's the cue coming along? I love the wood combination. Have always admired Brent's work. And have heard nothing but great things about Brent. While I do love to stir the pot, I'm also smart enough to recognize someone's opinion is just that.....AN OPINION!!!!! Opinions and A$$holes....everyone's got one. Some bigger than others. And if you've been in the penal system in FLA...yours might be pretty enlarged....IMO! I don't know that for a fact. I'm sure there are a few out there that do though.

So...where are the pics? Let's get this post back to where it should be....admiring Brent's work and Josh's creative choices for his next cue!

The cue is looking awesome. The clear makes the grain pop. LOVE IT!
