biggest package against the ghost

Tough to even try this or practice where I play. Before you finish one rack, a group of 3 or 4 watchers will gather and begin to talk loudly about politics, boating or the weather and they never shut up. These are the guys that will take their lawnmower to the repair shop when it won't start because the gas tank is empty. All this talk is within 3 feet of the table. A couple will even do commentary on each shot in the rack. Being nice to them doesn't help. Being rude and vulgar to them doesn't help either. If I chase them away, it won't be 5 minutes before 3 or 4 more come over to do the same thing. It's supposed to be a poolroom, not a day care center for elderly men.

Heads Phones. Use head Phones, works really well for me.

Not to beat a dead horse here, But Earl Strickland ran 11 for a Million, I would love to see someone to that today.

Wow. I need whatever you guys were on!
78 break and runs in a row??? That was good stuff.
Your math is a little off also....6 x 13 = 78

Must be a wild place, that space behind the face of serdula.

Hes not living the reality the rest of us are, is he.

A local guy here beat the ghost 20 to 0 I believe, might have been 21 or 22, it's been a long time, can't really remember. It isn't that big of a deal for a top player. I've never asked any of the other top players around here, it just came up in conversation with this particular guy. It's more to do with figuring out the break, than anything else, to them. If you get good spreads, then the sky is the limit to them.

After the player breaks, I think taking ball in hand negates it actually contributing to a "package" Dont get me wrong, consecutuve wins against the ghost is incredibly impressive, but technically the second he takes ball in hand, it no longer counts as a package.

If someone wanted to rig it a little they could probably run 50... pattern rack, soft break,
figure out a way to break that sinks a ball and parks 3 balls near pockets.

Biado's run was the highest I've seen on camera.
Donny Mills once said he'd take action on beating the 9b ghost without BIH,
which seems really strong.

I would not take that bet, i saw him play a few times he is a beast on the table.

20..yes, there is a chance. 50..maybe not. That's a lot of balls to be pocketed. Bound to be a couple of skids, even a miss in there somewhere. I wouldn't say it was impossible, but it would take a LOT of tries and some luck as well.

yeah 50 is optimistic haha... most players don't have the attention span to pocket
400+ balls even if they just rolled them out onto the table.

One way it could happen is if the early 9 is allowed.
Corey could abuse the ghost using his patented ultra-soft cheese-break.
He mastered that one where he makes an early 9 on like his 3rd shot.
That's only 150 balls to pocket, and 50 of them are wired :P

I've heard a lot of guys tell the story that you could make money betting on Lassiter to run out before he broke the balls.

Family billiards in Clearwater Florida. Back in 2009 I was practicing for the Shane match. Playing the ghost with out ball in hand race to 11 I'd give the ghost 2 games on the wire and I won every time. 3 days in a row I broke n ran 9 playing ghost with no ball in hand. Yet when I played Shane I didn't even break n run 5. Now that is what you call a real joke.

I had a package of 1 in a row against the ghost. But you know what they say, post a video or it didnt happen, I have no video of it, I will have to try again with the camera running some day.

You can play Donny. Seen you a few times. I really like your game.

I think your break was about as unlucky as anything I've ever seen in pool day 2 of the Shane Match. Break, make ball, cue ball in center of table, no shot..... over and over... I know that was frustrating.

On another note.. you should throw the AZB community a bone and video you beating the 9 ball ghost some long races to like 20 without ball in hand. That would be much appreciated!

I'd definitely like to see that and might even pay a few bucks if it had tips on making the wing ball reliably without magic rack with normal shoddy pool room equipment. Seems like I can only reliably drill it with a template.
