Billy Incardona - Short Rant

I love them; especially Ken....you can tell that guy got a great work ethic. Do they make mistakes; yes, but if I were in the booth for as long as them I'm absolutely sure I would say some things that I would regret. I'm enjoying the streams for what they are. I'm sure none of the commentators are getting rich of this. There is always a volume button if you don't like their commentary...I do enjoy hearing their old stories also.
 
Billy I is without a doubt the best commentator on pool, bar none. He calls the shots, safeties and position play without error.
Other commentators constantly say "Oh, he decided to do it a different way." They speak from lack of experience and for the most part, I MUTE them, rather than listen to amateur analysis, even though they have been at it quite a few years.
Nobody cares what you had for dinner.
Nobody cares for a graphic description of a physically endowed waitress.
Nobody cares for the cigarette cough and phlegm raising.
Nobody cares to hear you sound like a race car announcer for stock cars.
Nobody cares for your 8th grade, skateboard mentality linguistic skills.
Pay per View? Do you still wonder why people won't pay for it?
 
I agree with you to an extent. But I really do like Cotton's humor.

I am certainly not expecting a network level production for a stream that generates a fraction of the revenue. However, many of these issues are easy to solve with a five minute conversation between you (or the producer) and the commentator. But I get it, all of this takes additional resources. And resources are always limited. So if you and CSI truly believe that you are producing the best possible product for the available resources, then enough said.

I think Helfert is certainly better than Cotton. Quite knowledgeable and smart guy. Cotton comes across as fairly arrogant and egotistical.

Billy shouldn't have made those comments, but he is a great commentator too. I think Billy and Helfert are the best we've got right now. DiLiberto was very hilarious in his time, but that seems to have passed.

Hopkins isn't too bad either, but he doesn't do the streams.

Corey Deuel, Earl Strickland, and John Schmidt are the best player commentators I've seen. Of course, they are mostly still active so you can't get them in the booth too often.

Nick Varner is a very good commentator too. I don't think he is in Vegas though.

Jeremy jones is top-notch.

Corey is good too, but he needs someone to keep his fantasy-pool ideas in check.
 
This is much to do about nothing. I mean seriously this is nothing. Let's all be perfect, think that's possible? All we need is the "Thought Police" to get loose on AZB.
 
For me, I think Kenny is the one they really need out of the booth. His voice is so stifled and hard to listen to. He has like 0 energy behind him. He puts me to sleep.

he isn't that bad as long as he drinks water to get rid of the cotton mouth sound
 
I think it's funny that they all seemed to have red ass about us critiquing them. I like them all. I think Cotton is interesting to listen to. He's got good over the top stories usually good for some shock value. Only knock I got on Kenny is sometimes he gets smokers cotton mouth and sometimes he elaborates too much. But no question Kenny is a very intelligent man. Billy is smooth as silk and always knows what to say and when to say it. Jeremy Jones is about as good as they get. He, Billy and Jay are my favorites for sure. Listen to Jay's commentary when he did the US Open when Jeremy Jones played Jim Rempe. It was great..

Billy is a great commentator. I've learned a lot by listening to his thought process and been entertained by his stories a time or two.

How many people paid to watch the stream? 500...or maybe less ? I have no idea, but aren't the announcers basically volunteers or getting a free dinner or something? This isn't ESPN so I don't know why some people are so critical.

...because I'd actually like to see this on ESPN one day. And more importantly, I'd like to see demand for this type of programming expand beyond the 500-1000 die hard enthusiasts who currently buy these streams. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I think having commentators who behave professionally in the booth increases the chances for either of these to happen.
 
To BJTYLER, I had a ten dollar bet on SVB match with a close friend. I wanted both players to play good, as they did. Me talking about something other than the match is because we're in the booth for 9 hours and when there is time and noone is shooting it doesn't matter. I bragged on Ko-Pin- yi all day. I was married to an asain lady for 20 year. Sorry you were so un-happy with my commentating, all I can do is try to do better.
