Hey all,

Here a few pics of my new (to me) Blackcreek. I just got it yesterday from BTLS in a trade. Although it was made in December of 2007 it has seen very little use.

Some of you may have seen it in the for sale thread but after seeing it in person I think it deserves it own thread.

What do you think?

This cue looks so great it hurts. Should you want to know the whole story, this cue was meant to be mine, but it stayed in the USA, BTLS bought it from me (and I got it from onthehill.net, Troy Oldham, I guy I also wholeheartedly recommend) aaaand I got a superb Mottey in trade for this Blackcreek and in between these times this cue has only been played by BTLS who - I know - took great care of it.

So you got a great gem here for yourself that - apparently - has moved a lot of people's hearts who could not hold onto it.

So feel free to break all our hearts!!

Of course, I am just kidding with the last line, it is a marvellous cue, enjoy!!! :)

Thanks guys!

I have been looking at this cue for a while now in BTLS's for sale thread. Then it showed up on Ebay and I kept looking at it, and looking at it, and looking at it.

I received a Steve Klein in a trade a few days ago and made a deal with BTLS to give him the Klein and some cash for it.

So far I've only played with it for a little while and I wasn't impressed with the hit at all. I was beginning to think I knew why it was sold when all of a sudden on a long draw shot the tip came flying off!

Anyway, the cue sounded very hollow and didn't give me the feedback I was expecting. I suspect the tip wasn't installed very well and that was the problem. I had the tip replaced with a Tiger Medium today and will get some table time with it tomorrow so we'll see what happens.

I will post up a review once I've had enough time with it.

Cheers,
'Mash

When I paid around 2k for my Capone and took it out for the first spin I was disappointed with both brand new Kamui MS and Sniper tips on the shafts. I shaped them down to their half height and the cue began singing - it is ridicolous how much difference that made. I recommend you playing around with the tips a little,
David

Ok guys, here's an update.

I brought the Blackcreek to my local cue repair guy and had him install a Tiger Medium on one of the shafts. I also had him do a slight retaper on the same shaft.
Travis' original taper was very stiff. The diameter at the ferrule was just a shade over 13mm (around 13.1mm) and only stayed that diameter for about 4". At 4" it was 13.5mm and got thicker from there. Although I like a shaft around 13mm I usually like the taper to be around 10" or so which is what I had it retapered to.

Now the cue plays much better but I still think I need to do a little more work on the shaft. This thing is a freakin' telephone pole!!! I think maybe taking it down to around 12.9 will do the trick.

In other news, I had Jim Baxter make me a matching set of joint protectors. It took all of 2 days. Man, this guy is fast!!!

Here is the picture that Jim sent me for my approval. I'll get some better pics once I actually get them.
