It is a sad time on AZ with Danny H. quitting the game and now David, Blackjack, Sapolis leaving the forum.

I'm asking you two to please don't go away. I know dishonesty and stupidity exist and you've both been victims of it. I know that and understand how damaging it can be, even as your perpetrators seem to delight in your pain. Inflicting pain on others may be their only way to feel alive anymore. Sad and pathetic, but true, I suppose.

If you leave, then those who do these sub-human acts win, don't they? Let's not let them win. Let's not compromise with such types. Let's focus and win this fight, just as much as you'd focus and win a pool game/match. A lot of us here have your back, I'm sure.

I'm not trying to guilt-trip you, but simply asking you to reconsider. Please stay...I need you...az needs you...pool needs you.

With sincere respect,

Jeff Livingston

Where did you read that Blackjack was leaving this forum?

I missed something...

I missed whatever thread prompted Black Jack to say he was leaving. David, this doesn't sound like you at all. You certainly didn't strike me as someone that would give a rats ass what someone had to say to you over the computer. You're a diplomatic nice guy but unlike most that're like that, you've got a backbone & will stand up for what you believe in. Hence my surprise at hearing that you're considering leaving over something that was said on here.

This board has been a better place because of you and it will suffer should you leave it. You've contributed much here and taught a lot of people a lot of things. You've got so much more to share, I sincerely hope that you're not leaving the board. :(

Blackjack

meant he was leaving the board this afternoon, not forever.

And Danny is not quiting Pool, but doesn't think he will
play in the US Open 9 ball again.

As soon as I read his post, I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing. Crap goes on here, or on other forums like this everyday. It's the nature of the beast. Fact is...there have been a hell of a lot worse things said and done than this little flare up. Something ain't right and seems like there may be more going on behind the scenes.

Besides Blackjack...what are you going to do...go on poker or golf forums?

Hell, I'm a golf professional and don't even bother with them. STAY!!!

Hey now, you can't point out my thread as a reason to leave this forum. The straw that broke the camels back maybe, but not the only reason. This thread pales in comparison to some of the BS I've seen in this forum. If I had been critical of someone besides a pro, there would've been a lot more supporters. Put on some thicker skin.

There's nothing sad about the Harriman story. He's going to college and will focus his energies there. We should be happy for him.

As for Blackjack, it's tough not to be disheartened, for he's one of the people I respect most on this forum.

He is a scholar, an enthusiast and an ambassador of the game who is happy to share his countless experiences in pool with the forum. That's the first reason I admire him. He communicates well, and treats others on this forum with respect and hospitality. That's a second reason I admire him. He shares his teaching materials with others on the forum, giving many a unique chance to learn more about the game. That's a third reason I admire him. He is battling personal illness, but maintains a positive outlook on things. That's a fourth reason I admire him. And, of course, I could offer even more reasons............

If Blackjack's forum experience has been ruined by the few who post with a lack of gratitude, appreciation and understanding for those who have been the pillars on which our sport has been built, who am I to ask him to persist?

All I can say is that Blackjack is one of my favorites here on the forum and I hope he's stays with us, but I'll respect any decision he makes, because I know he'll do what makes sense for him.

Well said SJM..., I completely agree with you.

It doesn't matter if he leaves the board or not. When it comes time to pimp a new book or video, he'll be back. Come on guys, lighten up a little.

David---
My foot has fallen asleep and I won't wake it until you agree to stay.

That's it. I am now offically on strike. No foot for me.

You insult people and act totally uncivilized and when your actions hurt others and they complain you blame others calling them thin skinned. Leaving the forum is the natural and understandable reaction your behavior causes and it IS your fault.

That's not the way I read it. The essay on his website gives more background and explanations as to his reasoning. He has good points about Internet interactions.

Mr. Sapolis has a following and friends here, which is not something that I see you having.

I truly hope that both himself and Grady are present and we see trouble makers like yourself removed from the board.

B.j.

I was just with David recently and he is getting ready to try his hand on the professional circuit again. From how his game was when he was here,he should be able to hold his own against anyone. In spite of his illness which he dosn't use as an excuse but as a motivator for future tournaments I dont se him leaving this forum for one moron's comments.
Blackjack I hope i will be able to see you in Orlando for the open.
Good luck,
Bob
