I've tried dozens of blades & can only get about 2 tips cut, before it's dull. What brand of blade is everybody using?...JER

I use the Titanium coated Lennox brand. I get about 5 or 6 tips off of each side.

I was going to say the same rhing, lennox. I can only find the at lowes hardware stores. tim

I've been using the same blade for 3 yrs.
The one I had before the one I'm using now, I used for 10 yrs.
I'd still be using IT except I lost it somewhere around the shop.

How can I do this? I resharpen it each time before I use it.
I have a belt-sander with a 9" disc-sander attached to it.
I've got enough nickel & dime expenses. I'm not looking for more.

Oh, you wanted a brand-name. I don't know, whatever Sey throws away.

I use the stanley ones, but I only get 2 layered tips also, but I bought 2-packs for 7.50 each on sale awhile ago at HD and still have about 1000 blades left... so I just keep using them until gone. At that price it's cheap enough to get only 2 tips and not worry. I looked at getting the blade from Tiger, but too expensive and a lot of sharpening down the road, not for me. I like to pull it out of the package, use it till dull, then toss it and move on to the next blade

Buy now and save your fingers for later......or buy later and pay a whole lot more in the long run.
All my razor blades have rust on them.......!

I use a wood turners skew which is the same principle as the leather cutter from Tiger. It has a long handle that allows much control and I keep a stone next to the lathe and just make 3 or 4 strokes across it to resharpen. I've been using this present one for over 10 years.

It probably cost less than what I paid for the blade too! Once you master this style of cutting tips you'll never go back to razor blades.

Lepro tip.

Where's the telephone pole then? :grin-square:
Just got this Dremel bit to make it easier and "safer".

thanks,
There are too many small expenses that add up. People don't realize what the costs of a cue are. good advice, keep em coming...
