Sorry to bring this up again, but I'm thinking about buying either the Pro Book or the Advance Pro Book and want to make sure I get the right one. If anyone who has experience with both would chime in, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i'd start with the pro book. it's real handy, it even has a place to chart your progress. (how many times your made or missed a shot)

Bob Henning is the real deal. His books and DVD's are very professional and also very helpful.

He's also sincerely interested in helping people. About 4 or 5 years ago I attended my first pro tournament in Metropolis Il, the Buddy Hall Superman Classic. Bob was sharing a booth with a fella that had written the Billiards Yearbook, his name escapes me. I was standing talking to them, and smoking a cigarette, and the conversation went around to smoking and Bob spent a considerable amount of time talking to me about smoking and sincerely attempting to instill in me a desire to stop. He was not preaching and was not giving me a hard time. He was sincerely interested in helping me to stop doing something that was causing me physical and mental distress.

I was deeply impressed with his caring attitude and the memory of that interaction with him kept coming into consciousness. A year later I was able to stop and havn't smoked a cigarette for 1386 days... 4 years on May 1... I hope!

I've not had the opportunity to thank him for being a significant part of the motivation that helped me to want to stop but when I see him I'll certainly be talking to him and thanking him and maybe buying something expensive. :D Thanks Bob.
 
I'm glad to see that not even one person recommended The Monk. It's a marvel that he gets any mention at all, anywhere.

Bob Henning is the way to go.

He sure is an interesting guy to know.

I have to admit that I've had the book for about six years and have not yet read it. This thread has convinced me that I should.

Being pretty much a geek myself...:cool:

I'm puzzled by your observation. 100% of people, and many of them, all recommended Bob versus Monk.
