Well this is a little fact I thought I would share. COM was on tv last night and although I own the movie and I have seen it many times I can't help myself from watching it when I see its on. So as Vincent and Eddie are about to lag for their match in Atlantic City, They are saying nothing and in the background the TD is anouncing players and he anounces Albreight vs Larry Chiborak.

I'm sure this is just a coincidence but its not a common name. Just sharing and may get the vote this year for the most useless thread.

Are you just trying to get us to watch that awful movie again, Mark?

Roger

I tell ya when I watched it the first time I thought it was great. It does seem to have become a little cheesy after ll these years. Still watch it though.

He's announcing Larry Schwartz from Chicago.

Real person, real player.

Well it sounds like Larry Chiborak to me. amI on my own with that?

Naw, it's Larry Schwartz for sure.

You know, Richard Allen, who used to be the owner of Champion's in Silver Spring, MD, was contacted by the movie people about furnishing the tables for Atlantic City scene, he along with several other vendors. He lost the bid, and it ended up being awarded to somebody else. Richard Allen at that time was the largest distributor of Brunswick pool tables on the East Coast. The winning vendor furnished the Murrey pool tables, as you can see in the movie.

I cannot hear what he is announcing, but wanted to tell you I am the same way. When that movie is on I watch it.I saw it last night also, plus like all poolplayers also own it.I had been away from Pool for a number of years when that movie came out and I liked it.Movies are suppose to appeal to the masses . If that movie were made to appeal only to Pool players it never would have made it. I am saying this because I read so much negative abt. It from players who like to nit pick details.Bottom line that movie saved Pool.
