Bonus Ball Match - Team USA vs Team Canada - Full Match Video

those colors (yellow, blue, red) are burned into our minds

Lastly, purple and orange . . . really? :barf:[/QUOTE]

Yes, the purple/orange has issues, and it was the first reaction I shared with the "bb team" in Las Vegas - The ONE POINT balls needs to be Yellow, the TWO POINT balls needs to be Blue, and the Bonus Ball (Three Point Ball) needs to be Red.

In the USA market those colors (yellow, blue, red) are burned into our minds. It's difficult to imagine an orange ball as a "Two Ball" in any way, shape or form.

Just some constuctive criticism, but essential imho.

I will have to agree there, those colors are good and plus the 1, 2, 3 of those colors makes it easier for some to get but I think its too late for that now.

. Personally, I think scoring/tracking which ball the players are on will be combersome when playing with friends.

If you're the incoming player, if your score is divisible by 3, then you're on purple. If it's not, you're on orange.

If people need something easier than that, then god help them. :p

Please let us know when you do correct the changes, cause the video is also unwatchable on my computer. Pauses every 5 seconds, and Netflix, Youtube, and others work perfectly for me.

To be honest, the game just doesn't do it for me. I'm a 1p player who can tolerate 9b when its the only action. I do hope the best for it though.

I'm probably in the minority but to me, pool is a really great way to gamble, not a sport.

I like the colors a lot and want to get a set. If you know the order of the colors in 9 ball to know yellow, blue, red is 1 2 3 then you know purple, orange, black is 4, 5, 8.

thank you!

video is working fine for me. it was easy to pick up the basic rules... i'll keep watching it. undecided in my overall opinion of bb yet...

Bonus Ball is a fantastic gambling game if that's what you want. You go to 21, I'll go to 30! You play 6 pockets, I'll play three! I also know that the better shooter will always win. It's not really a gamble if you know your odds.

Bonus Ball is One Pocket on steroids. LOL You can't possibly form an opinion on the game without playing it many times and learning all the dimensions of the game. CJ, himself, told me there are several layers to the game. He liked it and had fun playing me, despite losing an incredible battle to me! He is a very smart player and I can see why he is a former champion.

Purple and orange are just colors! Who really cares seriously. I hate playing Bonus Ball with solids and stripes. It makes the game look old. It's brand new and marketed as such! I have never lined up a snooker shot thinking, OMG, look at all the three balls! Ridiculous!

I spend thousands of dollars per year upgrading my race cars. What's the big deal with purchasing a new ball set that matches the game the WPBL professionals are playing! They are Aramith and play well! Get over the different colored balls. It's no big deal! You can play it with any round ball you would like! Also, what makes amateurs think they need all the professional software that I use at my events.

I can walk into any pool hall with my game set, (I prefer the modern look), grab a penny and score the game on the table. Im sure after the world watches the WPBL professionals playing this intense and strategic game, they will reach down and buy a set or two for their hall. Nothing more is needed. When my penny is in front of a dot, I'm on purple! In between, I'm on orange. If I pocket the Bonus Ball I move it up to the second diamond. I miss, I'm back to purple anyway, in front of the same diamonds. You don't need a scoreboard or a shot clock when playing with friends. Take all day to shoot, nobody cares. Play to 21 or play to 50. Just play and have fun!

If your playing in my Bonus Ball tournament, I use a scoreboard and time clock. I tell you to come for a 2:00 match, you play at 2:00. If you are a slow player, this game is not for you! You get 24 agonizing seconds to get down and shoot that dam ball! It is not a real pressure cooker that's for sure! There are no strange rules, don't need no special equipment. Just bring your brains, skills and anything else you would bring to a Eight Ball game. Enjoy all the wicked shots the game forces you to perform and enjoy the moment when you perform two bank shots in a row or make your first ever cross cut into the far left corner! Also, when a crowd of billiard player are standing around you and are amazed at the game your playing, tell them it's Bonus Ball, watch it at www.wpbl.tv or on my site, www.playbonusball.com! Thank you very much!

Well, just piss on the little poor people why don't you. That'll really help get Bonus Ball off the ground. On behalf of all the serfs out there, I would just like to say, why don't you just go straight to H_11 you rich B__tard.

I've been poor, very comfortable, back to poor, and back to comfortable again. So I have viewed the world from both sides. Apparently you have experienced the world from only one perspective. All I can say is, the world needs less of people like you.

Said my piece.

Poor was my middle name for years, dear friend! I had children and no wife for years and I would collect beer bottles to buy a new tire for my race car. I worked at night when the kids went to bed. I raced. I found a way.

What has rich and pool have to do in the same sentence??? It is the most inexpensive sport in the world! Tournaments are $20 or less to enter for a full day of entertainment, league play is the same. Table time is barely enough to keep pool halls in business. We are asking for $9.95 to watch, if you so desire, six professionally produced billiard matches for a weekend. To just get people to focus on that, I pay $200 plus to watch a 3 hour hockey match in Canada.

It's nothing to do with being poor my friend! It's about loving your sport enough to sacrifice for it. I have no trouble with you coming into my house and asking for a slice of bread. I have no trouble with you going into Best Billiards and playing Bonus Ball with solids and stripes, red and yellows (black ball) and if you must, asking me to teach you the game for free because life has been tough on you! I've been there and done it! Found a way out and don't think I'm better than anyone else. I just worked hard to move forward. That was a real wrong thing to post. To me anyways! I'm just like every hard working person that dreamed big and reached for the stars. Why the hell did I grab onto Johnny Archer!

You just did it again. A LOT of people don't have $200 to spend on ENTERTAINMENT.

I am genuinely surprised to hear that! You have a very nonchalant way of suggesting that people should be happy to shell out $199 for a Bonus Ball game set that includes special balls and special software, when neither are necessary to play the game. And playing the game is nothing more than ENTERTAINMENT in the first place.

If racing was your dream, and you made sacrifices to achieve that dream, then more power to you. What you are now doing is asking the serfs to make the sacrifice of buying an unnecessary game set, which provides nothing more than entertainment value, in order to pad your wallet. That's your dream, not theirs. You use yourself as an example of how it is affordable. It's affordable to you.

I don't have a problem with the PPV aspect of Bonus Ball.

I'm not going any further with this conversation.

I really haven't watched, so I guess I haven't given it a fair chance, but I'm old school. really don't care to see new games, sorry.:frown:

A good deal of people do not have $2 to spend on pre-flag chalk or $25 Kamui for that matter or $40 for a pool DVD but they do. Bonus Ball is a business and I hope it makes a ton of money because if it does it will make the players money. The true fans out there who appreciate these guys talent should want to see them make a living.

I don't have a problem with the PPV aspect of Bonus Ball. Actually, I guess I don't really have a problem with the $199 game set either, come to think of it. If there's a market for it, it will sell. I don't think there will be a market for that particular product. But if it does sell then fine, I was wrong.

What I do have a problem with was a particular attitude that was expressed. It just rubbed me the wrong way. Further, as the owner/promoter of Bonus Ball, I don't think he represented the venture well.

I'm trying to stop talking about it before I say anything worse than I already did. But I guess I have cooled off somewhat by now.

A couple things I noticed watching the match.

First off - this is a professional type match and they are sitting on cheap chrome bar stools with their cues and supplies stacked in the corner. No nice benches with cue holders? maybe even a cue rack for the players not playing in the current match?
Also, I get you want to convey the whole color scheme throughout the studio...but either get rid of the shiny tape stripes on the wall - or if they are painted, get less glossy paint, because it looks like you slapped colored duct tape up on the wall as trim. Again, not what I would expect from a professional broadcast.
I thought the camera work was first rate, good lighting. The 'pocket girls' are a nice touch, but make sure they can fit their underwear inside the dresses, the blond's bra hanging out the back just looks trashy.

I agree on all points. Everything you see in the video was thrown together temporarily, including the set, jerseys, etc. We used what we had available already, and purchased what we could find a few days prior.

The real venue is under construction and being built to professional standard. Some pictures of the process will be released soon, and I'm confident that a few jaws will drop when they see just what it takes to pass Vegas building codes and bylaws for entertainment venues.

It is up now at http://www.playbonusball.com/, this is 90 minutes long and features top players, go and enjoy it!

I like how the ball sets look against the cloth color, vibrant and easy to see. From the rules it shows that there are 3 pockets for each team they can shoot at, but the pockets are not marked with the team logo or colors. Maybe those stars on the pockets should be colored. <-- edit.. just noticed that they are, but not easy to see, one is yellow.

Home team jerseys will be white. Away team jerseys will be back. Each teams pockets will be covered in a vinyl coating that is colored accordingly. :)

I love virtually everything about this venture. I love the team play, and how the games are set up more than 6 months out. I like the nation wide variety of teams. I like how the teams are modeled after other pro sports teams with monikers, logos and colors. I really love how many top-notch pros are committed to this. The production is absolutely first rate, and sounds like it is only going to get better with the new studio.

...the only thing that would seemingly make this much, much better is to play 10 ball instead of bonus-ball.
