Bonus Ball Match - Team USA vs Team Canada - Full Match Video

"Push Out Rules"

I love virtually everything about this venture. I love the team play, and how the games are set up more than 6 months out. I like the nation wide variety of teams. I like how the teams are modeled after other pro sports teams with monikers, logos and colors. I really love how many top-notch pros are committed to this. The production is absolutely first rate, and sounds like it is only going to get better with the new studio.

...the only thing that would seemingly make this much, much better is to play 10 ball instead of bonus-ball.

I was just told 10 Ball needs to be played with "Push Out Rules", and I have to agree that Push Out is better than "Lucky One Foul".

Do you have to call your shot?

For example, if you are on purple, do you have to call which purple you are going to pocket? I watched the video a couple days ago and I feel like I remember at one point there being a combo that Archer was shooting and he had to point and be like "this purple in the corner" since it was a combo or something.

I don't remember exactly what the situation was, but I know in snooker you don't have to call the reds and any fluked red counts. If shots are required to be called, I could see an argument ensue if it was not clear which ball was called or pocketed. With numbered balls, that is never an issue.

Anybody know what the rule on called shots is?

I've tried watchin this game a couple of times, but I just can't get into it, sorry. For one thing, it's brand new, and almost nobody knows anything about it, so present it like it's brand new and nobody knows anything about it, instead of some guys who actually appears to not know anything about it coming on talking about how it's taking the pool world by storm,,,,,big turnoff right to start with,,,,I also felt the jerseys looked ridiculous, unless we get some full contact into the game. And the girls, pretty hot, but one would suffice I think, that's qualified to referee, and loose the dude in the Mr Bonus Ball shirt. This game is just too gimicky for my taste.

One Pocket on Steroids???

I think not!!!!!

That said,,,,,Good Luck.

watching the USA/Canada match. I have to say that there is some shotmaking needed for sure. Also I think that some of the players don't seem to be bearing down 100% because honestly some of the games could end up being huge safety battles if the players would play one pocket position in terms of going for the shot but not leaving a shot.

Seems that a lot of the time they shot semi-tough shots with no thought of playing safe if they missed.

Overall though, very interesting game.

I'm having a really hard time following this, keeping track of the rules/spots/penalties...can't figure out the strategy if you can't follow the rules. But,then again, I'm kind of thick.

I agree with John Barton; what little I can gleen from the purpose of the game, if they really were bearing down, they'd all just trade safeties back and forth. JA did this a little until he decided it was time to get the audience back in the game and went on offense. SVB looked like he couldn't wait to get out of there.

Flashing LED lights over the active pockets might help the audience follow the game better.

Hot chicks were nice, but couldn't even spot the Bonus Ball properly...

I personally would prefer an established fast moving game with a rowdy crowd and loud music...nice try, but I'm just not feeling it.

Ten Ball? Better than nine ball for sure! Sorry CJ! As exciting to watch as Bonus Ball? I guess we will not be agreeing on that point. Doesn't make you wrong or me right. As I player, I can play rotation games for a while but I can't watch it at all. I can watch Eight Ball but we know what professional players do to that game. It's like watching Tiger Woods playing on Par three's all day!

We developed Bonus Ball to play tougher, more strategic and yes, it was to focus on a game more suited to players that enjoyed playing strategic billiards, enjoying making bank and rail shots. To my surprise, all levels of players that have played the game absolutely enjoy the challenges. I got casual bar players into it, I got young guns playing it! The top players in the city, I had them all playing it. It's simply billiards with tougher shots!

While filming the Border Battle in Canada, I played Corey some Snooker in the basement of the Army Base they filmed at. Playing Corey at Nine Ball would be no fun for me. Snooker, it was a much tougher game and I actually enjoyed getting back to the table and shooting! I'd like to play more of it if there was actually structured leagues. There is nothing around here except Legions of our vets that actually have 6 x 12's any more.

That's when Bonus Ball caught me eye. I became partners with Larry, I enjoyed playing the game so much! Now we have taken it so much further than Larry had it four years ago. All the top professionals added some nice things to the game and now we are ready to present it to billiard players.

Nobody said you needed to use our ball sets. Nobody said you need to use a scoreboard or shot clock. Nobody said you had to quit playing Eight Ball. It's another game in a long line of billiard games. Why do we even need another billiard game? Gee, I guess you don't if you don"t want one. Some people don't care about marketing the billiards. Some people want to just play one form of billiards or another. That's fine. We did find, as you will notice if you read these forums, there are a lot of people that do enjoy this game and that's really what I knew from the beginning. I won't get everyone to like this new, exciting and fun to play game.

Nathan took some drywall and a few lights and in one week, we had these pros going wow, what a great game, we will play this game for sure. They played it flawlessly in our videos with one super pro that had a hard time with the game. Most of these pros just played the game that week! Rodney was fun to watch, Corey was in heaven with his great shot making abilities. Morra looked fantastic and so did most of these players. Wait until mid-season to watch this production. It will be first class and even more exciting to watch as these guys figure out more strategy. These videos are what we could pull together in a week. Imagine what Nathan has in store for you in a month!
