Bonus ball the truth

Blair Thein/PPP thread

@LEE - when is this happening? what/how will you be involved?
(and good for you!)

After my road trip i have the Hollywood crew coming to Vegas to film me for the day, should be interesting....to say the least.

Proud of Blair and what he has been doing, pool now has a chance if we make this as big as pawn stars, gold rush Alaska, duck dynasty etc...

I'm only on page 10 of the thread but Would the Players be considered Entertainers? Which would not be Employees?

Also how may hours worked in a week? Less than 30 would not be eligible for benefits and definitely if 26 weeks would now be full time.

Just a thought

How did you know that Joey. Its a combination of old age, lots of pool with too many beer and chicken wings.

Time to get a Juicer me thinks otherwise I may get Phatter.

It would be tough to come for a visit. with all those great eating establishments in NO that I just read about. I might have to pay for 2 seats on the flight back.

I have stuck with it as far as this post but I can't read any more.
But funny just isn't funny on here,

I know where humor is concerned there is a cultural gap between England and North America but I could understand Bob Newhart subtlety and Chris Rock's lack of it. I can even appreciate Jeff Foxworthy's Redneck stuff.

Rarely have I heard anything funnier than Ray Stevens 'Blue Cyclone' (check it out, somebody give us a link please).

But the wannabee comics on here - please don't give up the day job!

Honey - sometimes they are inside jokes b/w posters, that no one else "gets". like when i call Lee Brett an English Arse/Ass. or BFDLAD (who is English), an AUSSIE....

....i don't know you well enough (yet), to know if you're an English GENTLEMAN.

PS - NO means New Orleans

For the record, everyone is a contractor which is why this is all a mute point. Everyone has been paid for time worked (including Lee), and everyone still working for the league is satisfied with everything at this point.
The labor board doesn't deal with contract laborers, and the IRS is irrelevant here as the players will owe little if anything since they will be credited back for their expenses to get to Vegas and play.
As for the league, it's obvious it has operated at a loss so far, trying to create this opportunity for players. So they will obviously not have a liability either.

Well, I suppose that when you laugh at Knights Who Say Neep and demand Shrubberies as payment then thats to be expected.

Its Canadian humor, we don't even understand it most times.

Most of us in Canada are Lumber Jacks (we're OK). We spend most of our days in the forest so are not socialized as well as others.

Lee's going to kill me, cause i'm totally lying, but it's fitting @ this moment (and i did CROP this pic from when he was here).

when i told him to pull his pants up, cause i could see his English Ass - he said:

WHA - ?

- ASS.

WHA - ? WHAT'S AN "A-YASS"

- IT'S SOUTHERN FOR "ARSE"!

How is this anyone's fault but your own?

Welcome to the world of freelance/contract work.

Pool isn't the benevolent association; get a job.

That isn't fair. He agreed to work for an agreed-upon amount of money. That is far from depending upon the benevolence of others.

One thing I know for sure, ALL ball girls in Vegas are independent contractors.

Winning shot @ gcb tournament

1) the winning shot!!!! CHOOS, LEE!!!!

2&3) the winning cue - it says something "Ënglish" on it....

You are correct - an agreed amount of money PER MATCH which he was later paid - as were there rest of us. I know we would all love to be paid for 26 weeks worth of work, but the reality is we all worked 7 and have been paid accordingly. Lee worked for 6 and has been paid for 6. It's really no more complicated than that. It was unfortunate we had some things happen along the way and lives were affected. But the league did it's best under the circumstances, everyone has been taken care of, and now we are moving on and hoping to build off a great end to the regular season.
And let me add to that that we were all told we would be paid by the match - not by the season. So if we worked 6 or 7 weeks, it's reasonable to expect to be paid for 6 or 7 and not 26.

if there were Contract(s) @ 26wks @ $XXXXX.XX total, then it's Breach.
(regardless of BB still being in the RED to date, as you stated earlier tonight.)
and VERBAL contracts can be deemed @ legally binding as well.

There only agreement for compensation is on a per-match basis. We can all figure in our heads what that would translate to over a 26 week span, but we are only owed for matches worked - not for seasons or parts of seasons worked. There are no contracts (verbal or non-verbal) involving 26 weeks, only for worked matches.
