Is Bonus Ball dead or what is the latest?
Why dont the powers that be have a Bonus Ball tournament?
Kind of like when the IPT had everyone playing 8 ball, if this BB takes off the only way will be if the pool players play it and understand it and gamble and play tournaments.
Am I wrong here?

Nope. This time, you are not wrong!

It defies logic, given the repeated delays, that there is 0 promotion.

I bet the investors are puckered up. No way they stick around for a 2nd or 3rd major setback. Wonder what their spend threshold is?

Are the players still getting their 2k/ wk?

Black-Balled has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space!!!

Damnit.....

Is Bonus Ball dead or what is the latest?Does anyone but the players who on BB payroll actually care?
Why dont the powers that be have a Bonus Ball tournament? Because in pool, there are NO powers that be...

Who in their right mind gives two sh$ts about matching up in bonus ball. I can see the matchups now: "I'll spot you an additional side pocket" "No, I need an extra corner..."

While I enjoy watching this and have spent a considerable amount of time to understand, and appreciate, this new format, I will not be watching or subscribing to the weekly PPV.

Frankly I believe that they have overpriced this at $9.95 per week for a 26 week schedule. If I compare what I spend for my television signal each month and the hundreds of channels that I receive the value is not there. I watched the entire Mosconi cup for $4.99.

I hope they succeed but will not be supporting them by subscribing to the broadcast.

Maybe it's better if they don't try to do some sort of temporary one-off tournament just for the sake of it.

I think they wanted to launch with a bang... that obviously fizzled, but they learned their expensive lesson and now they probably won't do anything until they can do it completely and correctly.

It's supposed to be a league / team event, building up over time, with rivalries and whatnot. A one time tournament might put out the message "we can't get our shit together so here's something we cobbled up in the meantime", or it might work against the buildup and re-launch... "oh yeah, bonus ball's launching next week? Didn't they just have some event last week?"

After watching some of the Bonus Ball matches on YouTube, the one thing I like is the collaboration of different types of players on one time. It was nice to see different types of champions paired together on teams.

Is Bonus Ball dead or what is the latest? Bonus Ball is alive and well being played by many players in Las Vegas. It will only continue to grow. Is the WPBL alive or dead should be the question. The city is updating the plans as we speak for the new contractor.

Why don't the powers that be have a Bonus Ball tournament? The direction that Larry Chiborak has chosen is to have a structured league. He has no desire to follow the trend of holding one week tournaments which seem do not make anyone happy. Players and tournament promoters scream, no money all the time.

Kind of like when the IPT had everyone playing 8 ball, if this BB takes off the only way will be if the pool players play it and understand it and gamble and play tournaments.

There is not a lot to understand about Bonus Ball. The game is simply a three-pocket game of billiards. Learn the rules and play with your friends. Some day it will grow large enough to have leagues for everyone to play in. That all takes time. Your wondering why a 2 year old baby is not sprinting like a 25 year old grown man. It has to grow. Growth takes time.

It is taking far too long for the WPBL to launch but it is a building issue that is being taken care of by the President and CEO, Larry Chiborak. He bore the blame for being conned by a dubious contractor and it's that simple. The game of Bonus Ball, the players and Runout Media are all solid performers. If the WPBL fails, Bonus Ball the game will continue on.

I didnt say have a tour, I said have a tournament that pays decent so competitive players can learn the game and have a financial incentive, too.

I dont want to play any game with my friends for fun, I'd like to gamble and play other competitive players.

It defies logic that this game wouldnt be introduced to serious pool players and marketed accordingly. The only reason I even ask is because I live by some of the bonus ball players and they want to gamble at the game and I really have no desire to learn the game, however If i were practicing for a tournament I would.

I now cculd officially care less about bonus ball and will never watch it. Even though they were duped (sorry) by a contractor they could have easily found some place else to do it until their studio got done. How many pool rooms in Vegas wouldn't have bent over backwards so they could have started their league (especially having all those pros in their place). Its now gone on too long and I personnaly have lost any interest I might have had.

I was in Vegas all last week and went to a few pool rooms. I didn't see one game of bonus ball being played. Strange...

Cleary my friend, I was playing with different players all day Saturday at the Las Vegas Cue Club. Next time your around, send me your number and Stevie Moore and I will tag team you and Justin! LOL

As far as setting up in for a stream from a billiard hall, that can't happen with a professional league. We did a professional event the first year we first introduced the game and it was great, fun and entertaining. Bustamante was hands down the best Bonus Ball player and the winner. It is not Larry's goal in life to produce tournaments. I will be staging amateur tournaments in the future. I did a test tournament and a test league in Canada and both were fantastic. I also put on a great eight ball tournament. Problem with tournaments, financing them to make a profit is not easy. No fans, no ticket sales, no advertisers. A simple fact of life.

You are sooooo wrong.......the players that are being paid to play BB are certainly playing it. :smile-square:

I'm not into being tag teamed, by men. But if you wanted to play pool, I would try YOU some one pocket or 9ball. I only play real games at the moment.

I think Chris means that someone was selling sets of bonus balls but wanted big money for them, so no one bought any.
