as a general rule it applies to many including MYSELF.one can lead a happy life if one can accept the invetabilities that come with advancing age .Nobody can be a champion for life especially in the sports that involve the motor skills whether gross or fine type.

More sound advice but hard to follow. Our egos helped drive us to play at whatever level we reached. At 68, I'm not ready to be a railbird yet, and yes it is costing me a little money from time to time, and my bark is way worse than my bite, but I'm still thinking I can catch my stroke and firing away. Wish there were more old guys who felt the same way and I might be matching up better.

I am not discouraging any old guys.CowBoy Jimmy More played strong at the age of 80.All I am saying is that our goals have to be realistic and Grady`s & Ronnie`s time is over and they were champions in the past and not the champions of the present. Most everybody respect them for their past acievements but if they demand for the continued respect ,no body will listen to or respond to their demands/crying and they will loose respect of the community.

Why me, Randy? I've never been anything but nice to you and you degrade, villify and embarrass me for no reason. You further post outright lies about lots of things.
Well, pal, something needs to be done about you. This is the last time I'll ever dirty up a post of mine with your name but let's see what you're really made of: I challenge you you to 500 points of Straight Pool for $20,000. I'll select the equipment, the date and the site. I mean, just because you're richer than anyone in pool you think guys like you should get an invite to a pro event and be able to pick whoever you want.
I'll select a well respected ref, like Pat Fleming or Scott Smith and we'll just get it on, mano a mano.
By the way, Mr. Wilson, people like this creep should be permanently barred from this newsgroup.

I'm confused. Why do you continue to attack Randy when, as he previously stated, he tried to get you an invite? The notion he presented of inviting you to play in the tournament was soundly rejected by the the commitee of the sanctioning body.

Here was his explanation: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?p=828841#post828841

Here is the leadership of the group - is there anybody there you would have a problem with?

A lot of people like you, Grady, myself included, but I see this as an odd challenge.

I am sticking with Firefox for a few weeks.

If your computer crashes mid-session, it remembers your open tabs... that alone puts it head and shoulders above IE...

(My pc has "issues" somewhat like my pool game)

good to see another convert, I love firefox too. It's a hair slower to actually load the first window, but once it's loaded everything else is quicker.

The red X's (images not displaying) happens to a fair number of people. It can be caused by installing a particular toolbar or popup blocker, or a mistaken setting change, etc. MS put up a little alert about it here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283807

Surprised randy hasn't answered the thread yet, maybe he's practicing up :) I dunno his speed in straight pool but it's been said he can play, and grady's maybe a bit past his freshness date. I've only seen randy play once, against jeanette lee.

I think this challenge is silly because A. Grady's not ashamed to give himself home team advantage AND no reasonable spot, though he's a known champion? and B. proving you're better on the pool table doesn't prove anything except who can play better... it doesn't prove you're a better promoter or that you should be part of some invitational or that the loser is a terrible person (or whatever point grady wants to make).

ths is where nothing can compete with ie - loading up the original window. because ie is built into windows itself and firefox (or anything else for that matter) is standalone. the fact that it's built in is one of the many problems with IE.

better stop my geeky rambling before i bore u all to tears lol.

you may be right with respect to sex,a person can swing to hetero or homo but in pool a senior citizen`s pendulum swings to only one side and that is called loosers bracket.:D  :D
