Ive been trying to get my hands on a Joey Bautista for a long time and finally received this one today. This was one of the hardest cues I have ever photographed and was very difficult to catch the true beauty of the woods. The photos still do not do the cue justice, it is an absolute stunner.

It came with two very dense shafts with Micarta ferrules and of course features Joeys staple Micarta ringwork on the butt. Im hoping for one with his chain ring work some day :).

Anyways, on to the photos.

Quilted maple and waterfall bubinga look pretty awesome together! Great looking cue!

Not maple. Pomelle sapele
Piece was sent to me after the first one was lost in the mail.
Really hard piece to find. I found a nice slab but only 3/4 thick. So, I will have to cross-laminate this piece, Hagan-style.
I can't find any at 1 3/8 thick.

Not waterfall bubinga as well. This is the pomelle or "birdseye" kind. Same kind as rings and trims. Kinda expensive as rings .
But, since I have them at 24" lengths, I have extra pieces for rings.

Woa moma
Look at the stuff on that

Natural beauty

I've got a pretty wrapless with a nice curly bubinga handle but yours looks even more figured

Goes to show what I know about wood...lol. Awesome figure nonetheless. Thanks to plshrk22 for posting it up and JoeyInCali the info on the actual wood species!

So nice - someone upstairs is very proud

This cue is so sweet. Sometimes you just need the wood to speak for itself. The ring work in the butt section reminds me of my Zylr. I enjoy that cue and I am sure this cue plays every bit as good as the cues Zylr made.

Great combination - well done Joey

Believe me the cue is much prettier than the pictures show! I saw the cue many times in various stages and I coveted that cue in the worst way. Those woods are subtle beauty and without a doubt belong together. I'm waiting on a Braz that is beautiful but yours is very special.

I am very happy with a Bubinga that I have had for more than a few years that has the Chain Links.

You will love how it plays.

Now if you should decide to sell and sell to anyone but me I will hunt you down no matter where you are stationed! lol

Enjoy, because you will never find a classier or prettier cue.

Not unless you should sell it to someone else. lol

Seriously though, I get together with Joey every few months and I see the beautiful woods that he has and the wood combos that he puts together and never has one grabbed me as hard as yours. Those two woods absolutely belong together!

We frequently see many elaborate, flashy, creative cues here but seldom any that stand out from all others due the perfect marriage of two woods and their perfection of simplicity.

Enjoy.

Joey makes a great plunger handle :)

Jeesh, that's a humble collection.
Thanks for the support.
Your rare ( first one ) wood combo is in the making here .

Got a lot of assemblies right now in the making.
Just took some cuts on a few tonight.
One project is the prototype break-jumper . Already spoken for.
