Brandon Pureza.

Always fun to root for those who post here. Good luck to Brandon, and also to frequent AZB poster Donny Mills.

Whoa! Just saw this...

Thanks for all the support guys, my first round match never showed up and I won my second round match despite taking a mental leave of absence in the middle of the set... I missed an 8-ball to go up 6-2 and didn't wake up until it was tied at 7-7. I finally snapped out of it and won 11-7 from there.

Hey LOU, I did actually get my new Ginacue 2 days before the Open started and I'm playing with it even though I haven't fully gotten used to it yet... It plays almost the same as my previous cue but just different enough to get in my head on certain shots. The cue was just too damn beautiful for me not to go ahead and play with it... I guess I'd rather lose in style than not use it haha.

My next match will definitely be a tough one.. I'm playing Jason Klatt AKA The Canadian AKA Mr. Rousey. I'll have to play jam up to come up with the win as he's a great player.

Congrats on making it to the third round and good luck today against Klatt. We are all pulling for you!

Crap. You got Bayawak out. You do have mad skills, BP!

Gee, BB, I just wanna be like you when I grow up!! Seriously though, my man Brandon is the dude to watch in this tourney. He shoots straight and he
could be the unforeseen dark horse.;);)

Brandon is down 6-4 at this moment, come on young n ,1 game at a time Brandon,if Brandon does come up short in this match,he would b losing to a great player and person,Mr.Rousey,Klatt and his lovly women are great people, come on now Brandon ,get it done!

Well Brandon just suffered his 1st lost,no shame in losing to Klatt(great player),now with that out of the way ,go tear up the losers bracket Brandon, good luck the rest of the way!

Unfortunately, Donnie didn't look very good in practice before his match with Earl Strickland and took a beating 11-3.

Unfortunately Brandon has to play Shane Jackson who is also a member here of AZ. Shane doesnt have nearly as many post so I am thinking he is the underdog, but he did just pull off a win against Parica so he must be hitting them good. Must have something to do with them 4 inch pockets in his pool hall that he owns in Pittsburgh (Steel City Billiards).

Regardless of the outcome, we are gauranteed to loose an AZ member in the fight and thats not something any of us want to see.

Good luck to both of you and hope you both play to the best of your abilities.

I see 11-0 score, what happen,i cant believe someone would get this far and forfeit,oh well if thats the case, come on Shane Jackson and Donnie Mills yous are the last 2 men standing from az!

Looks like Brandon didn't show up for his match. So Shane moves on. Congrats to Shane and Brandon on strong showings. Hope everything is ok with Brandon.

Owning that pool hall was the best thing that could have happened to Shane. I played in a tournament with him a few weeks ago and his game has jumped considerably!

I bet it has, he played pretty tough a few months ago when I played him.

I was thinking that maybe Chip and Shane started sparring together to get ready for the Open.

Im pretty happy to see "The Burgh" represented pretty dam good so far this year in the Open.

I slept right through my damn match!

Oh well... at least I cashed.

Minor bump in the road, Brandon. We know you'll be back, better and stronger! You might want to spend a month or two in Manila when you got the time and hone your skills against our champions back home. It's not easy having a full time career like you and not having enough time to improve your game but, hey, you showed them you have what it takes to play these full time pool players!!

This might not be your time to shine but it will come...:thumbup2:

How the heck do you sleep through your match at a tourament like the US-Open when you are in the cash? I would have had my alarm clock AND cell phone set to go off at the appropriate time. Seems odd to pay that much money to go and play in the US-Open and then not be able to get up at the appropriate time... In my entire life I have never missed a match like that, and in the US-Open it would never happen.

Well.. my phone is my alarm clock and I set the time to 8PM instead of 8AM.

Secondly, it only cost me 25 bucks to play in the Open because I won a qualifier.

Lastly, never say never. ;)

It's like some AZ disease. I think Mike Page slept a match last year too.
