Looks like the stage is being set for a good one here in Mobile, Alabama.

From what I see so far there is not going to be one clear cut favorite though certain people think there is probably. It all depends who prepared the best and is ready and gets a few breaks here and there.

Inbetween matches I will try to give an insight on what is going on here.

Can't wait to get started. The competition is going to be fierce.:thumbup:

Going down to see what's going on tonight...........

Today there were some 500 sets and some 1000.

Tomorrow at 2:00 Clint McCollough is playing 5,000 set of one pocket with a guy named Jerry. I think it is Brock. I want to see this. Got to get to bed.

Good night.

I'm pretty sure that's the guy.

I would guess it to be Jerry Brock. Older guy, but he can still play very well.

I just woke up. I wanted to get down there and watch. it will probably be over before I get down there. I really needed the rest.

Need to get ready for the tourny Sat.

And yes he can PLAY. Alot of old guys can play.................

9ball/10ball?

I don't think we will be seeing BigTruck at the Mobile tournament.

I think he owes me a couple of beers. Maybe, that's why he isn't showing up.:mad:

Smoke got me...........

give'em hell gene

I have had a really bad time health wise dealing with the smoke. I've been in the poolroom for about 12 hours and am having trouble breathing let alone playing.

I was hoping I could do this but not with the diminished ability that this causes. I could hardly drive the van back to the room.

I'm going to try staying out of the poolroom tomorrow and then in the tournament just going in for my match and then leaving.

I dealt with the smoke in Memphis pretty well but it's the direct hits you get from someone close to you that has a cigerrette that really do the damage health wise.

The left side of my chest just hurts when i breath in.

Boy, does this suck..................

I know this would look funny... but you seem to like pool enough not to care what you look like: Can you try some sort of filter type respirator like used in painting? They are about $40 and work quite well, for paint fumes at least.

You could probablby get tons of action too if you wore it.

Gene,
Please don't draw me in the tournament. I wouldn't have the heart to beat you. My heart goes out to you man.

Take care of yourself. Go do some brisk walking, drink lots of water and flush your system out. I want to see you play your best game.

It would look funny. It sure sounds funny. But it could be painful to break with one and the truth is that none of Gene's illness is funny.

I know you aren't trying to make small of Gene's condition.

I do agree that he would get lots of action if he wore a respirator.

The whole smoking thing in public sucks like the BP Macondo oil disaster!

Thanks Joey,

Last night it was kind of rough. When I was waking up it was like my eyes were giued shut. Got a headache that probably won't go away all weekend I know from past experience in the smoke. Just going to have to deal with it the best I can. I won't be hanging out in there after my matches though. That I can guarantee.

The bar tables really play slow. If you have ever played golf on sand greens this is what it is like. Just when you think it is going to get there the cue ball stops. Then for no reason at all it seems to travel a little further.

This tournament will probably be won by someone nobody thinks will win it. The conditions will dictate the outcome. Anyone that is switching back and forth from the big tables that play fairly fast is in for big trouble. The adjustment will be too much.

I'm going down in about a half hour and see if i can get aclimated to these bar tables.

See ya down there Joey. And everyone else..........Thanks.
