On the International Pool Tour website, they have just posted up the 150 names of members accepted into the tour.

WOW, this is so exciting! :D

It's cool to see some of the WPBA players on the list. It will be interesting to see how Allison, Karen, Gerda, Helena, et al match up against the top men. It's also cool to see some of the names from the past on the list. It's going to be pretty interesting to say the least.

Great to see some UK guys on the list, not least "The Whirlwind" Jimmy White along with Ronnie!

Some World Class English 8-Ball players in Darren Appleton, Carl Morris, Mick Hill and Phil Harrison, will be interesting to see how the UK 8-Ballers do in comparison to the Snooker guys.

I must say: I AM EXCITED!

One thing for sure, the IPT Tour does have an international flavor. The first OPEN event will begin in the year 2006, which is depicted on the IPT website.

There is an invitational event happening November 30-December 4, 2005 which will have 43 IPT members, 10 of which are CONFIRMED Hall of Famers.

The total prize purse for EACH upcoming tournament is: $1 MILLION

First place will pay out $200,000.

Wow, it doesn't get any better than this! :D :D :D

I'm sure it's especially exciting for the 150 who "got in". Can I pick a few of them to play for their spots? ;)

Where there people who sent their money in on time and were refused?! I thought that anyone could pony up the $899 and join.

I think whoever made this list, while picking some obviously fantastic players, has also included some fossils who would better be left buried. Who WERE names in the past, but whos current abilities are severely diminished from their ability of years ago, when compared to the modern day talent out there.

It's obvious that they were chosen because of their names recognizability, and not their current level of ability.

BUT on the flip side, maybe they were chosen because of some straightpool backround, which would tie into the patterns of 8-ball which is the game of choice.

Be nice to know how the guys i'm thinking of were picked, cause it sure isn't based on them doing any damage in MODERN day pool.

It isn't $899 anymore. Basically, players were supposed to submit an application and then KT, Mike Sigel, and company hand picked the 150.

Wow! Zim must be proud then. I think I saw his name on there.

I missed the cut. I guess when they expand the field to 150,000,000 I will try again.

Way to go Keith! Give 'em the ETHER!

I am happy to see Lil John's name in there as well.

Should be a strong tour...

I am a little disappointed not to see a wheelchair player or two such as Aaron or Charlie.

Be interesting to see how some of them do with REAL money on the line. Heck this will almost be like gambling now ;)

Shorty

all it takes,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,all it EVER TOOK,,,,,,was money.

now if the ipt set down some rules like the upa, watch them all fall in line.

Its about time that professional pool will get major T.V. coverage and outside sponsors.this is somthing that our sport has needed for years.

Yes, it is. It's good to see the top players (anyone left out?) along with all the international players and the WPBA players. This looks real promising to actually see a major US TV production.
