I wonder if Mosconi ever crossed paths with Joe Paterno. Seems like there is a chance they might have met once in their lives.

I love how everyone in the media acts like Joe was the one holding the camera or something.
OK, I guess I am gonna have to be the wet blanket here. I know this is meant in fun but I think this is in poor taste tobe honest. The subject matter is not a goodone and linking whats going on at Penn State and Mosconi cup just ain't right. Sorry but I just had to say it.

You know I'm not going to sit here and act like I was out of line to post this joke.
Bad things happen to everyone in life. Really bad things. Some babies get ducktaped and chopped into pieces. Some children have their parents melted in a burning building.
Are you kidding? Yeah, this Penn State scandal appears pretty bad. I don't think the kids were tortured. I know it's bad, but believe me it could have been worse. Alot worse. Try daily torture or being drugged and forced into the sex slave industry. Try being beaten on a daily basis.
Yeah, I had multiple family members die in a car accident when I was a kid. Maybe if I had a choice I would have had some old guy molest me instead of losing family members and having to see the blood all over the car.

I belong to a couple forums and find it disgusting, inhumane and classless to make humor of the recent events at Penn State.... Sadly, I've seen this shit everywhere and it makes me ill.... Wtf is this world coming to??? What is wrong with us???
What if one of these boys that were raped was your son, nephew, brother???
Have you ever been affected by this type of abuse in your life???
My ex's son was raped repeatedly while visiting his dad at the age of 5.... He's 10 now and is as ****ed up as ever.... Kid is suffering in every aspect of life.... She recently caught him fondling his 8 yr old sister.... This woman and I have a 2 yr old daughter together.... My daughter shares a roof with this troubled boy every other week.... Trust me, I've had many sleepless nights....
Please don't give me that "boy needs therapy" shit.... This kid is ****ed for life, just like the numerous innocent victims of Sandusky.... Castrate that evil mother****er.....
I'm not educated enough on this type of abuse to explain it in detail.... But it's a vicious cycle that repeats itself.... There is a very high probability that at a young age, Sandusky had a Sandusky in his life also.... and so on and so on.... The majority of these sicko pedophiles have a similar story/childhood....
I saw a documentary on this type of abuse recently that just floored me.... Think it was called Deliver Us From Evil.....

He wasn't making a joke about the kids molested by Sandusky at all...doesn't even mention them. He simply put Paterno's name in the post and everyone's flipping out...lighten up already.
He doesn't need to mention the molestation directly. The reference to Paterno at this time, is all that's needed. There's not a person here, unless they live in a cave, that won't associate the molestation cases and what Paterno's involvement (or lack there of) in the story is.
It really comes down to common sense. This isn't a comedy forum where comedians are trying out their latest jokes.
The question really is.. is it really necessary to make a stupid joke that brings to mind innocent children being raped, in a pool forum? It boggles the mind trying to understand what would posses a person to think up what was written, how they could remotely think it was even funny on any level in the first place, then think it was worthy of starting a new thread with a stupid comment in the subject line and nothing more then a hehe for the body.
There's no reason to debate free speech, and what's right and what's wrong to talk about or whats appropriate to make fun of and when, it was just completely lame on all levels, and one would have to be desperate for attention to feel it was something that was worth starting a brand new thread in the main section of a pool forum.
Of all threads that just need to fade off and die, this would be the one. Unfortunately me replying, puts in back at the top.
paterno isnt the criminal here. accusations were made and he kept it internal and passed the info on to his superiors. this is the reason he isnt being indicted. he shouldnt of been fired. he is definiteky being persacuted and he will not be prosecuted. the two are not one in the same.
oh no... please let's not discuss the case here, this will keep this thread on the front page forever. A few people just chimed in on how stupid it was for the OP to even have posted this extremely lame attempt at humor in the first place. That's it.. this thread isn't about discussing the the specifics of the case. I'm sure that's being discussed over in the NPR group.
