Brits and their chalk

QUOTE=JoeyA;3276691]You're exactly right. All that matters is if it works for you. I am kind of rambunctious at times and I can imagine myself knocking the chalk off of the holder. Glad that you don't have any problem with it.

Now that I am thinking about it, I've decided to go all in on the leather pouch and use it 100% of the time, whether I'm using Blue Diamond chalk or Masters. I'm pretty conditioned to using it during tournaments and I think it will be easy to get used to using it on a daily basis.

I may get a second leather pouch because if you play a lot of pool, that constant putting the chalk into the pouch, wears on the leather and the threads. Like I may have mentioned earlier, putting some good glue between two pieces of leather is a pretty good way of securing leather where the thread has come loose and the leather pieces are separating. At least it's working for me so far.[/QUOTE]

Hey Joey, I really do not think it matters which one anyone chooses but I have become so attached to mine it' stupid! It has fallen off before (rarely)and I am like a junkie looking for his fix, crawling around in a state of panic!! Funny shit really how we become so obsessed with the smallest details.. I'll bet after you have become used to one you'll never go back to leaving chalk on the rail!
Take Care!!

I'm not sure why a player wouldn't want to carry the chalk in a pocket.
Mine stays in my back right pocket. I don't need a fancy holder.
Always there when I need it. Never have to hunt for it. And I haven't noticed any problems with it making a mess.
Before I tired it kinda seemed like it would be messy but that's not been my experience in the 2 or so years I've been doing it.
I don't like chalk on the rails for the simple reason that it invariably ends up under my cue by accident disturbing my stroke.

Not read the whole thread but...

Its ACTUALLY a foul in some rules to leave it on the rail.

It is construed as it could be used as a marker for a double or a snooker escape for example.

just FYI...

Not sure about Snooker as i'm only an occasional player but there are 4 major rule sets in UK pool. Different parts of the country are weighted to different rule sets. For example, I play world rules but i think a lot of Scotland (only 40 miles away) play Blackball rules.

1. World rules,
2. BAPTO,
3. Blakball,
4. Old EPA rules.

Karen Korr has a chalk pouch on the front of her belt. Funny watching her drop it in there after every shot

Honestly I have my own personal cube (nice and new and not too used) that I use at the table when Im shooting... Noted that when I place it down between shots i make sure to place it upright so the dust doenst dirty up the rails. I also take it to my seat where I sit still and wait for my turn.

Nothing is worse than people (especially at bars) that take the only cube with them when they aren't shooting. Sitting there yuking it up with their pals and rubbing the chalk teh whole time. I love it when I have to intrupt them to ask for the chalk. They usually say something like, "Isnt there another piece??" Then I reply, "No and why do you need it?? You may not shoot again!!"

Overall the table does look nicer without chalk laying all over it!!

Thanks for the link Joey. Looks like Aurora hasn't posted anything in 2 years. Wondering if she's still making these?

Yes, I just ordered one on Friday and got it in the mail on Monday (yesterday).
