hey andi, these are the pics,, please get back to me, it was understandable of how this could have happened after inspecting it and using a micrometer to measure the specs of it..
I must be way behind in the times,,,because I have never seen a hollow shaft.
It sure don't seem like there was much holding it on there in the first place.
How well did it hit before this happened?
I thought the same thing - where's the tenon? Both the ferrule and shaft look hollow.
Predators have a .250 hole drilled 5 inch deep into the front of the shaft. The ferrule doesn't have a tenon. The end of the shaft is turned down slightly and the ferrule is slipped over and glued onto the end of the shaft. At, or very near the end of the hollowed out shaft a small piece of Styrofoam, similar to the stuff coffee cups are made from, is place so that glue will not get inside and maybe cause a rattle.
Call Predator at: 1-888-314-4111 and explain your problem. I believe that they guarantee against this problem.

Very informative. Thank you for sharing.

For those who don't know, this cue shaft is absolute patent fraud. It is a direct violation of Predator's patent.
I urge everyone to respect intellectual property rights. Failure to do so will destroy creativity.
This is much more serious than most would think.
Drilling a hole down the center of a dowel (prior to finishing the shaft) is not an infringement on Predator's patent. Using ten pie shaped pieces to make up the dowel, might be.
It looks like the base of the ferrule has broken off. An easy fix.
Good to know. I was under the mistaken understanding that Predator held design patents on the entire process, not just the lamination.
Good to know I was wrong and thanks for straightening me out.
Thanks again
Kevin
