Jerry sent me pics of a full spliced cue he built for another customer. I'm jealous!!! The nose is Brazilian Rosewood, so is the middle section. The butt area is ebony. It really pops with finish on it. Also, the wedge is not flat, it's round like the rest of the cue. I'm sure the veneer miters and ivory inlay were LOTS of fun to negotiate!!!

I see Jerry's cues for sale at prices that appear to be steals. His passion for building these fullsplice cues with his own personal twist is something to be sought after. Very impressed with the way this cue came out.

hi Ralph, cue is on its way to me and plan to use it as my main player, so not for sale ;-)

I'll post a short review on how it plays in a little while, given my experience sofar with R cues (both playability as well as top notch customer service and work) I am quite sure it will play very well!

That's weird. Because last year you slammed the Gracio 360 as nothing special because in your mind, it wasn't nearly as nice as some of the other more inlaid and fancier cues. :confused:


Either way, this cue is gorgeous and incredibly well executed from the look of the pics. Congrats to the new owner.

Jerry is one of the best old school builders going. His full-spliced return points are the nutz!!! No one makes them like him in America anymore. He's THE MAN on full-splicing.

update on cue

After a long journey (13 days in the mail), cue has arrived at its new home in the Netherlands. Veneers are the national colours of the Netherlands (red-white-blue from our flag, and orange which is the national colour).

After playing with it for an evening:
- playability is top notch: especially with the Z2 shaft (inc custom ringwork) which Jerry made as one of the two shafts
- the craftmanship in this cue is as good as other (butterlfly) spliced cues I own, and have owned, including those from Paul Fanelli who I feel was the king of splices (personal opinion).

Lastly, the customer service pre- during and post build was top notch: regular communication about design in the early stages, progress pictures during built, and the most thoroughly packed cue for shipping I have seen to date (cue + shafts in sleeves, in bubblewrap in tube, with two boxes on the outside). Was quite a job to unpack it.

Long post, but concluding: props to Jerry again for building a damn fine cue and top notch customer service. Will definitely order R cues again in the future.
