Nice job stepping up to fill in the need for simple diagramming. Being html5 makes it very responsive. If you can come up with a simple way to draw lines we'd be like 90% there.
I know this is kind of picky, but is there a way to better represent a striped ball? When looking at table layouts it's helpful to be able to quickly identify balls.
In absence of the wei table, I started working on an HTML5 pool table diagramming tool. It does not require any flash or java, just a recent browser. It automatically generates an image tag that you can copy and paste into the forum. This is BETA, so please give me feedback
Currently all you can do is place balls on the table. There are no lines or arrows yet. Click "Generate Image" and copy and paste the generated code into the forum.

This looks amazing, nice work! I bet if you call up Diamond they'd pay you to use their table look and logo in this as an advertisement.
I like how you made the balls float into position in the rack.

I think you are awesome for doing this. Please keep up the good work.
Thanks! I'll continue as time allows.
Doh! stripes are not rendering correctly. They were, something broke. Looking into it.
[edit] stripes balls are fixed! Thanks for catching that. I went back and fixed my posted images too.
Been thinking about this since I got my first iPhone in 2009!
There's already a couple apps that will allow you to 'correct' the perspective of static images, such as the writing on a conference room white board. Calibrating the color recognition might be complicated, given the multitude of ball types, colors, age, and cleanliness. I envision an app that requires you to 'calibrate' the session for each table, take 4 or more photos at the highest practical elevation, and the app stitches together the photos and overlays billiards balls where they lie. Calculating ball locations can probably be figured out based on diamonds and perspective of table rails.
Figure out how to do this and the community will be beating a path to your door.
This is a great tool already. But that doesn't keep me from asking for more.
It would be nice to be able to zoom the image by 2x or so to make tricky situations clearer -- for example to see if balls fit or are frozen to cushions. I don't think we need the whole table to show up in that case -- just the interesting quarter.
The grid is OK, but diamonds on the rails would be nice.
Thank you thank you thank you!!! This has been a huge need ever since things got weird with the wei table. Thank you!!
