Did Buddy ever participate in the Mosconi Cup? Seems like he would have been a good choice for the US team. I don't recall hearing anything about him being part of one and that seems odd to me.

Has he won a tournament since the event first started?

Wait... are you serious?

He snapped off a US Open in 1998. Mosconi Cup was already gong for a a few years by then.

Buddy Hall never did play in the Mosconi Cup. As mentioned above he was vice-captain to Johnny Archer in 2013.

Buddy didn't like to fly (and wouldn't!) so that made it a little hard for him to get to Europe in the 90's when he was still in his prime.

Oklahoma was about as far West as Buddy ever traveled. He knows the highways and byways of the Eastern USA (Mississippi East) as good as anyone alive.

That being said, Buddy Hall was a member of Team USA during the World Team Billiards events.

It's a shame that someone with that much talent refused to get on an airplane. Obviously nobody ever convinced him that travel by car is so much more dangerous than by air.

So true. But why did they have to name anything to do with airports TERMINAL?

Tell that to the other "Buddy"...Buddy Holly.

Or Stevie Ray Vaughan, or Ricky Nelson, or Jim Croce, or Otis Redding, or plenty more who thought the same thing.

You can fly a million times, but it only takes ONE time to take you out.

Do you feel LUCKY?

271 people killed in flights last year, in the entire world
37,000+ people killed in car accidents last year in the U.S.......

Odds of dying in a plane: 1:11,000,000
Odds of dying in a car: 1:5000

How lucky do you feel now?

Not one of the famous musicians you listed was flying on a commercial airline. They all owned or chartered small planes or helicopters using questionable judgement. U.S. professional sports teams — MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL — have been flying on commercial airlines for decades. Have you ever heard of a team being wiped out by a plane crash?
