Folks, Buddy Hall, has a new cue line called "Derby" cues. They are made in America and some look as good as any I've seen. Check-um-out, you just might find something you fall in love with too. http://www.derbycues.com/

Bill, baby, good to see you posting, man. Hope you're doing well!

Thanks for disseminating the info about Buddy's new line of cues. Very cool!

My guess would be Joss or Samsara.

I wouldn't know, but they would hate to have Buddy as the QC man. He is one of the most meticullous men on the planet and I don't mean that negatively either. It must be a heck of a cue for him to put his name on it..

Good to see ya $BILL.Hard to keep a good man down!!!

Any idea who makes them?

Used to be a guy in Florida called TR who had the Derby cues. Actually they were probably made by Wayne Gunn. The web site seems to be registered to TR so my guess is they are resurrecting the old cues and taking another shot at the cue business.

Nice looking cues

As mentioned, they do look a lot like a Samsara cue.

top half of the line is made by Samsara the lower half by Joss

That is correct. I asked Buddy, and it took him a minute to recall, but he did confirm that his higher line of cues were made by Samsara. I saw Buddy and his cue last month and I hit a few balls with em. They are simple, and the craftsmanship is good, but to me, they were somewhat generic. The whole time I was hitting with em, I was thinking to myself, "If Lucasi produced a flat faced cue, it would probably hit just like this". JMHO

There still is a guy in Florida named TR and he is responsible for resurrecting the Derby Cue name.

TR McIntosh was Buddy's stakehorse for many years and his lifelong friend.

TR bought Rocky Tillis' business after Rocky had his stroke and Wayne Gunn was the cuemaker, the cues were called Derby Cues.

The cues are made by Joss (models 1 -6) and Samsara (models 7 - 12) for Buddy and TR.

The workmanship and playability is what you would expect from these two world class cuemakers and the price is being kept in a modest range ($300 to $1200) so they are afforable to all.

JAM, sweetheart, if I had only known you were back posting too I would have been back much sooner. I'm just biding time till January trying to dissolve a blood clot in my leg so I can do the bypass surgery then.

IRONMAN, thanks a bunch for the kind words. It's great to be back, especially to let everyone know about my buddy-Buddy's new line of cues. They really are knocked out looking cues.......

In my opinion Buddy's choice of cue goes to the highest bidder. He's had many different cue sponsors, the first was probably Meucci. Leonard Bludworth was another, I believe.

And didn't he used to raffle off his playing cues back in the 70's?

I think that as far as Buddy is concerned, a cue is a cue is a cue.

Need more info type of joint used , wgts etc etc - site does not provide that - and they want a lot of personal info just for contact .
