Bustamante's win of the 2010 WPC...Snaps in the 9 ;)

Thanks for the link. Bustamante has the most wonderful stroke. He is a pleasure to watch. Congratulations to him for his big win.

Wow! That was brilliant. I really enjoyed the picture slide show. Man, I've got post-WPC fever. I will never get any work done today. I'm still excited about Bustamante winning. :grin-square:

I know! This is definitely a long time comin' for Mr. Bu-Djangos! :D

They must be freezing their butts off in Qatar. The temperature right now is 32 degrees C. Yikes! :o

Jam-ski! <tisk> <tisk> There are other temperature gradients besides Fahrenheit, ya know. Like, oh, the quoted Celsius? (32 degrees C is 90 degrees F, btw.) That is, unless, you're poking fun by saying 90 degrees F is "frigid" by Qatar standards. ;)

I noticed the logo for this event in Doha. This is cool-looking! I like it! :)

Yep, it's simple, but effective! Not over-done.

I just hope he gets paid!

All Middle East promoters will pay you a cashiers check before you leave the venue. This can be redeemed by an on site accountant or at a local bank before you leave the country.
Players who leave without collecting prize money have it mailed on to them.

I found a way better quality video. Added it to the first page if anyone still intrested.

Dude, I understand your point, but the final score was 13-7 and 4 other balls went in on the break.

Either way, let's congratulate Francisco for something that's a long time coming.

IMO just a terrible way to win a world championship. I want to see the pressure shooting on the hill, the nerves, the actual meat and potatoes aspects of the game of pool. Instead we see a lucky roll on a 9-ball in the side off the break and miss what should have been a much more interesting and meaningful ending.

I am glad for Bustie, and it is not his fault the rules are the way they are. Just one more bad thing to go along with the countless others in this event and a example of why 9-ball itself is so flawed.

Finally!! It's about time Francisco won the WPC. A very deserving one!
Congratulations! He should've won this a long time ago but, hey, at least he got it now.

He was up 12-7 and it looks like he made 4-5 balls on the break. I think it's safe to say he was as good as out.

I'm happy that Busta finally got his first "world" title. Long overdue, for a future hall of famer.

On a side note, his opponent, Kuo Po Cheng, is, IMO, one of the great underrated Taiwanese players. FWIW, this is Kuo's SECOND, second place finish at the WPC (I believe he finished second to Wu Chia Ching, after being on the hill and having Wu run a 5 and out).

Eric

Yes, i remember his match against Wu Chia Ching. Kuo almost perfect safety had a no rail foul, and Wu Chia Ching got a ball in hand.

From that ball in hand, Wu ran out the next 5 racks to take the crown.

Talked to my girl in the Philippines this morning and she told me she saw Bustamante win the WPC on TV. Maybe she only saw it on the news. I'm not clear about that. Either way I suspect that the shows we saw being recorded will find their way to filipino and Asian television markets very soon.

Thanks for the second one Gatz. It looks lkike he made five balls on the break. The funny part is that the referee just calmly goes about his business of racking up the balls as if there is going to be another game. :-)

It'll be on dvd in Greenhills soon. :D
