Some people have a problem hitting the ball lightly enough. Fading the stroke in the direction of spin sometimes helps. Regardless, ping is the best descriptor I can come up with for that light hit.

So "ping" means hit softly and "fade the stroke" means swoop the tip to the outside?
Wouldn't it be more conducive to conversation to use common terms for these things?
