Earl in an extremely long race against a still very solid Pinoy I believe would be history repeating itself. I like Busty a little better in almost every area, a lot more in a couple of critical areas.
I would rather see them in eleven races to nine or nine races to eleven.
Not really. More entertaining to think about and talk about than a lot of things on this forum.

Ye more short races would be preferred. Especially since if Busty gets up decent early, Earl could just absolutely implode and make the remainder really tough to watch. If they do a big race, they might need a little leage mercy rule in effect just to put everyone out of their misery.
So maybe a 20 ahead match? 100 cap.
I'd pay as much to watch this match as I would to have access to the Mosconi Cup. If enough people share this sentiment it just may happen.
It may not sound like much but at their ages, in my opinion, the 2-1/2 year age advantage (Busty right at 60, Earl 62-1/2) does make a difference.Race to 100 anytime anywhere!! I have no idea what game Busty wants to play because he never said it but I’m assuming 9 ball!!

Its less than i thought. They're only about 1yr apart in age. Thought Earl was 5yrs older.
Check Wiki on both - 2-1/2 year difference - Earl DOB June 1961, Busty DOB December 1963.
I agree, both players would absolutely do it. Just both would need an exhibition package, which they should get. If it really happens and its on Sharks, no one will watch it.

In his interview with JJ, Rogan was talking about hosting matches on his table in the studio where he'd do commentary. 4.25" pockets so the table isn't a slop show. Didn’t Earl lose most of the long 100+ races even in his prime? It’s before my time but I’ve watched parts of those on YouTube.
Earl would get a good lead, something would piss him off, and then his head would seemingly get the best of him the rest of the match and he’d come crashing from ahead.
I may be wrong and certainly someone like sjm could (and should) correct me, but he doesn’t seem like the type that can brush off the ref ruling against him in rack 116 to finish out the match in stroke.

Yikes. Busty turns 60 in 1 month and Efren turns 70 in 9 months. Time certainly flies, even for the Filipino greats.

For a lot of us the mileage is more of a factor than the age. I think Earl fits in that category.

True. Physically, Earl has the edge over most any opponent near his age. Mentally, they can give him the 7.

He'd bring a handful of cueballs with him... "this is your ball, this is mine"... he'd have to give busty some janky crater filled ball to stand a chance imo.
