Buy UltraSkin Layered Cue Tips

I'm still in search of a replacement for the Ultraskins. I relied on them for my daily low-cost replacements but haven't found one I like as much yet at that price point. I'm now about out of Ultraskins and the ones I ordered and paid for in June never showed up. Between not being able to get those, and the 6-month wait for Zan's, this is getting silly.
I just got some SIBs in to try. I installed an original and was very pleased with how it cut and shaped. I have not played with one yet, but I have heard nothing but good from those that have.

Still not sure what the difference is between the original and cool blue yet. It doesn’t really say on the website.

AZ Community,
Has there been any update on Mr. Tom's health? I hope he is doing well and will be returning soon. I think I speak for a few of us when I say that we miss him and his great product. Thank you

Does anyone know if a Glen Vinton is some how now involved with Toms tips?
The only reason I ask is I just got an email saying something I ordered will be shipped tomorrow.
I do not have anything on order that I haven't already recieved other than some of Toms tips that I ordered about a month and a half ago.
Could be a spam email but there was nothing in it that tried to get me to click on. In fact the only thing it said was his name and it would be shipped tomorrow.
If anyone else with tips on order gets an email from a Glen Vinton I guess we'll know.

Hope Tom is well. I'm looking to get Ultraskins restocked soon as I'm running out of them too, but it seems for the time being, until Tom is certified "back in action", I'll just have to take my business as well..

Get well soon Tom!

Same experience ordered August 2 form Tom Hay. took my money on pay pal and no communication yet.
Cue Components has several options for reasonable priced quality tips. My favorite is the Black Diamond.
Medium hardness only, plays on the soft side of medium.

Update, Pay Pal refunded me in full. Wish Tom Hay a speedy recovery.

I'm out 160.00 if I don't get what i ordered. Multiple emails and messages on his website. Even sent refund request on PayPal. Nothing in six weeks.
Not sure what's up.

Have you read the posts?
As we understand it right now, Tom is having health issues and is not able to do anything.

Tom is a standup guy with great service and product, he has been great to work with. I had an issue with an order getting lost once and his response was fast and positive.

Hope you don't think Tom is doing something nefarious, but it seems implied in your posts. He is not taking your money and is unable to fulfill orders at this time. Just work with PayPal, they have the money.

We all hope he gets through whatever this is.

If you have contacted paypal and filed a claim, you need to escalate it. There is a button for that. They then try to contact tom again and give him about a 3 week time frame to reply. After that you will be credited when they tell you to respond.

Has anyone had any recent experience in the purchasing of SIB cue tips? Thanks for your response.

I'm not implying anything, I related steps I've taken with my order to the poster.
I posted earlier that he is a great seller and my hopes are he is ok. Tom has always delivered fast communication.

No problem. Just didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea. Good luck with PayPal, they should take care of you eventually.

Yes, I ordered some to try out. I wasn't sure what the difference was between the Cool Blue and the Original, so I only ordered the Original so far. The order was shipped quickly. I had no issue with the purchasing part.

I have installed One so far, but I have not personally played with one yet. It machined nicely, and the finished tip looked very nice. They are kind of a yellowish tan, not a peachy tan.

I contacted Richard at SIB to find out what the difference was between the two tips.

Response:
It is mainly just the color. I think the blue plays a little softer per hardness. Here is the
Hardness rating for the Original SIB

PRO 62.7
Soft 65.2
Medium 73.9
Hard 76.6

Hardness rating for the Cool blue
Soft 64.3
Medium 72.1
Hard 75.9

Any updates with regards to Tom? Has anyone spoken to him, or been able to reach him?

I know that Paypal has made multiple tries to contact him on my order over a month and a half back with apparently no response from him. One can only hope the best for him, but if he's in the hospital that long, must be pretty serious. Looking forward to hearing he's home again and doing well as that would be really great news.

I was also, just contact Paypal, it's a process and takes a bit, but no one is out money. I'm hoping the best for him and will definitely reorder when and if he hopefully gets well.

I'm curious. Meucci cues uses the Ultraskin black medium tip on all their wood shafts and, I believe, the Ivory Ultarskin on their carbon fiber shafts. Do they have a large supply of them or are they still getting them from Ultraskin?

Ask Meucci. Just sayin, how would anyone on here know that? Call and ask them direct. I'm starting to think this isn't going to end well. Surely someone would have made contact with Tom by now.
