A friend from Alabama sent me a VHS cassette tape, 6 hours in total, a portion of which contained the last four men standing in a tournament at Atlantic City, NJ. Allen Hopkins is one of the commentators, along with several beautiful ladies, to include Ewa.
I purchased this Toshiba dubbing machine a few months ago, and this is the first time I've had a chance to figure out how to dub a VHS cassette tape onto a DVD, which I am doing now as a I write this thread.
I am hoping somebody on here will guide me in this thread to post up the video after it is finished dubbing. Please join me in this journey to get this vintage pool footage on YouTube.
The problem with the 6-hour videotape is that there are portions of the pool tournament intermingled with tennis matches, a black-and-white movie, and the Ed Sullivan show, which has a pretty cool appearance of Michael Jackson reunited with his brothers singing "I'll Be There." Of course, I only want to dub the pool stuff.
I saw Keith's match when I was fast-forwarding through the VHS tape, and now I can't find it, but I figured since I found Reid and Sigel's match, I'd dub that now. Man, you should see Jimmy Reid with a big afro or perm, and then tehre's Barry Behrman with a full head of brown hair.
Anyway, when it finishes dubbing, I would appreciate it if somebody could give me step-by-step instructions how to get it on YouTube. The last time I usted this dubbing machine, it created a file folder on the DVD with .VOB files on it. I have Real Player Pro and other video software, so maybe I have something to dub it into a correct format.
Also, I am dubbing this using my LG HDTV, and the picture fits the full screen. Should I have changed my settings to have the VHS picture fit only a portion of the TV before I began dubbing?
Oh, they're playing on a Gandy table with tan cloth, and believe it or not, there's a full house ouf spectators. Keith looks just like he did when he was in TCOM, so I think this may have occurred in the '80s but not sure.
Looking forward to help, info, anything you can provide. My present to you all will be a chance to see this on YouTube, hopefully. :angel2:
In the words of Arnie, I'll be back. Please help! TIA!
